I am still wondering if there is any reasonable advantage to bot anything higher than mpx with x equal to whatever level you can kill superfast as we all know white mobs are the way to go for hightest legendary/rares drop rate.
Now considering that high MP is not proportional to BETTER item, what is the point of answering MP8+ to this poll?
Sorry again for my constructive trolling

If you believe the hypothesis that MF% can increase the # of slots a rare can have (can't find the link to the comprehensive statistical analysis on the D3 forums) then you also agree that you are more likely to find better quality rares (per individual kills) in higher MP levels.

Ideal MP level to farm for items? - Forums - Diablo III <-- not the one I was looking for :(

On what basis are you comparing higher MP to better items? (as you state they are not proportional?). The above link has one valid point, if you are clearing the next highest MP level at the same rate as your current MP level then you are farming in the wrong MP level. It is all about efficiency.

If you are prepared to conceed that MP(1) may be more efficient thatn MP(0)- actIII, then by similar logic, for some better geared players, MP(>=8) may be more efficient than MP(<8).

totally in agreement, but I have difficulties thinking that somebody can farm efficiently MP8+, having a barb with 200k dps I still see how long it takes to do an "efficient farm".
but I'd like to be proven wrong that's why I would like somebody to post their stats at mp8+

I understand, my barb only has 185k - and can only dream of efficiently farming MP7+. I have seen barbs with 500k dps (iirc), and I have heard of wizards peaking over 700k (these are purely paper numbers, no idea how well they farm).

Do you use the Bul-Kathos mighty weapon set? Or the Immortal King's 5 pc bonus? I feel like I am going down the wrong path at times...

well obvs there's a difference between farming and botting....

U don't even need that high of stats as a barb 130k+ you can do mp8 if u have enough ls. And you could run past whites to elites if you wanted to that's what some people do. Taxi 3 other people or have a monk with tempest just run to find elites too.

mf increases chances of the item dropping to be more quality ex: a lot more yellows drop in mp10. And once it drops suppsoedly mf affects getting higher end rolls.

From blue posts on Blizaard forums the rolls are determined by the level of the mob (which is 63 in Inferno MP(1+)). There is no question that more yellows will drop in higher MP levels, cereris paribus, rather the questions begs whether the additional loot (bonus items from MP), increased gold, and increased drop rate of legendaries and 6-slotted rares can be justified with the scaling difficulty.

I believe that when a legendary drops the random rolls are the same irrespective of MP level and MF. Thus, the arguement that most pose is that why fight mobs twice as tough for less than twice the reward.

Think of it as this analogy... riding a motorbike at 300km/hr, you hit a bug and you dont notice a speed reduction... though if you hit enough bugs at once you will eventually notice a decrease in speed. How many bugs can you hit at once before your speed drops noticeably? Now, imagine you are geared to the hilt and you are now a semi-trailer... you think it takes more bugs to slow you down?

Nobody knows exactly how MP and MF effect item quality. It's all speculations. Only Blizzard knows. This is why these kind of threads pop up from time to time. People wonder what MP should I farm, what act should I farm, how much MF should I have, etc, etc.

I remember readin patch notes that higher MP would grant better items, but some say this design is broken, but no one knows for sure.

Magic Find and its efficiency: A statistical insight - Theorycrafting and Analysis - Diablo Discussion and Community Forums - DiabloFans.com

Read the article, its a very well written statistical analysis on varying levels of MF - this study has the largest sample i have seen so far.

The study demonstrates that MF behaves predicatably between 0% to 625%, indicating that the bonus MF from MP level is working.

The study suggests that rares are more likely to have more slots as MF increases - thus supporting Blizzard's possibly unintentional semantically challenged statement that higher MP would grant better items... The meaning of Blizzard's statement has been argued in several threads, with some claiming it refers simply to more rare/legendary drops, or that individual affixes will have higher ranges.

Sure, no one knows for sure - even if Blizzard made a tooltip (or announcement) it would most likely be misleading. However, the above mentioned study is very convincing.

That said, random is random, and it was my lesser geared barb in MP(1) that looted my most expensive sale (1.2B), where my other Barb with twice the damage doing MP(4-6) has only ever sold an item for 100M.

so far most ppl farm MP 0 rather than MP 1, why is that!!!

so far most ppl farm MP 0 rather than MP 1, why is that!!!

Monsters go from 100% to 150% health in exchange for 10% xp, 25% mf/gf. As long as you farm MP 0 in Act 3 you'll see no difference in ilvl of dropped items, and most people are somewhere in between being able to go from MP0 and MP1, the extra survivability the mobs get is a deceptive hurdle to overcome when you consider elites lasting longer means they have more chances to trap you in just the right position. If you can kill a higher MP lvl at the same speed obviously you move up but otherwise you should stay at a lower level.

mp 10 only , 2 millions dps unbuffed on my wizard with 5% scorn lifeleech .

This barb reached 60 3 days ago after the last mini ban weave, so he has no paragon. Farming MP3 with gear worth 40kk. The best is to farm MP4 with a 60kk gear when you reach a good lvl of paragon 75+. To farm higher MP than 4 it will cost too much in gear, and it will hurt when getting banned.

This is the second type of bot i'm running, still MP3, but with 10kk of gear, i'm expecting a huge banweave tomorrow, if doesn't happen i'll gear all of them with 60kk:

Agreed, i do the same with my monks, but mp5

hard to tell since it is random as fuck. My first month botting i made more from 2 bots then the following months (averaged ofc) with 10. But since 18/12 im run swapping Monks on mp5-6 i see better loot with a higher frequency. Again its really hard to tell but as long as i can run high mps with 800-1000 iphs ill do it (.13 trinity).

I use MP0 for levelling and MP1 for farming. My monk is worth 250m with 200k dps and 45k health with 450 all res. I'm fairly new to botting and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be farming higher than MP1. I only farm for ring, ammy and legendaries. I'm not too sure about my spec either.
