As bans reports seem to be increasing (IMO), and blizz anti-bot policy seems (IMO) to be harder than it used to be, I decided to create this poll, to make some serious statistic for us.

if you never been banned please do not select anything....

poll done now.

Should just have the *email* poll questions. The others e.g., grinding, pvp, are just speculation as to why the person was banned and they cannot be sure therefore you're not getting solid/correct statistics, just presumptions.

Just saying.. ;D lol.

Kinda misleading poll title :p
No-one really 'knows' for sure if it was Instancebuddy or Gatherbuddy or player report that got them banned
But as far as the most risky goes i personally think BGs is the riskiest.

you forgot the most obvious... "Stupidity of some botters not knowing how or what to do"

Where is the haven't been banned feature? This poll makes it look like we all got banned once...

I admit.. i've never been banned while botting. I was banned on my original WoW Account back in 2006. I called Blizz up and asked why my account was banned since i had no email yet. They said "we have proof you were using a 3rd party product blah blah blah..." I didn't even know you COULD bot the game. So it got me wondering... and after about a month... well lets say about 50+ accounts (mostly sold off to others afte rleveled) I'm still going strong with no ban.. just 1 suspension LOL and that was on an account I bought from some college kid.... it was removed after abotu 6 days.

in my experience selling gold will get you the swiftest ban, as blizzard recently stated, other types of activity is logged and monitored, for a more "global" investigation, and when they feel they have gathered enough in comes the banwave.

I'll throw my vote in for PVP botting for 2 reasons.

1) Your around a lot of real players
2) Most of the assholes who WILL report bots PVP

For PvP it really depends.. Id say a melee has more chances of being banned than a ranged. My hunter looks pretty legit, as it stands in one place. Melee tends to spin around and turn perfectly, etc.. choppy running.

Gold Selling should be #1 as they can ban you pretty easily, grinding usually takes longer to get banned from it, but its still very high.

These threads are kinda pointless.. its common sense..

Not really fair to call someone an asshole for reporting you for *****ing in the game (unless the person reporting is also *****ing). Technically in that situation, you're the asshole :D

Selling gold will never get you banned if you sell to normal players. Selling to Chinese companies directly is 9/10 chance to get you perma-banned. I've only ever had perma-bans form the latter, and temp-bans from player reports while I'm gathering.

Hi,

(Please, apologize for my english)

At the moment, I've got 3 account suspended. They ask me to give an ID card with a dayly newspaper. Well, for me it's fine, most of my account are mine.
But some friends of mine had 12, 12 and 7 account perma ban or suspended, and no way to get it back. Even their guild bank is blocked, they can get back the money with officers on a secure account. That's not my case.

Is it just a temporary ban wave or is Blizzard changing his botting, goldselling policy. Can't say. But, what I think is that they are watching the AH. These 2 weeks, I had 2 AH account banned, only after 5 days using ! usually, I could keep it 1 month at least. That's a new thing, they are watching the account with char lvl 1, dealing with AH on several server. They wasn't doing it before these 2 weeks.
Second, my friends were using their botting account to put items on AH. That was a good idea, an account with a lvl 85 char and a lvl 1 using AH is not suspicious. But, if they are watching AH seriously, they would notice that you are making 100K per week, or so.It is now suspicious.

So well, I think that blizzard is using AH to detect botting, goldselling. What do you think about?
