This is a simple poll to try and gauge how people grind while questing. Do you simply quest with minimal killing? Or do you have "Kill Between Hotspots" checked to do mass killing while questing? I have wondered which is a more efficient way to level (XP/hr), so I look forward to people's opinions.

Nah, zipping through the quests seems to be the faster way. I always turn off Kill between Hotspots.

I quest with maximum killing

I've never actually unchecked the box because I figured it would cause a lot of issues moving between quests and getting attacked by random mobs.

I should add that with the price of green items nowadays with transmog, this is one more reason that I mass kill

That is one question i have been wanting to ask. In the default settings it is enabled.
When questing with kill between turned on it will take SO MUCH LONGEr to get from A to B. But with it disabled, alot of the time it will pull heaps of mobs and die. especially when using an item at a certain place.
Also for cata questing i believe it shud be turned off becus eg. collecting charred fragments in hyjal, with it on it will pull elites that take ages to kill and keep dying, endless loops.
Good poll @OP

where do you uncheck this box to kill between quest? or do u have to edit the profile?

Nah bro u dnt hav to edit the profile. Just open hb, click settings (make sure u enable the advanced view) and u shud see an option to "kill between hotspots"

I used to have it to "on" but I in places with fast spawn rates you find yourself grinding instead of questing.

Correct. Make sure you scroll down though. As simple as it may sound to do this, I honestly never noticed the scroll bar on the right the first half dozens times that I opened HB settings. It blends into the ui VERY WELL, so if you aren't looking for it, or don't know it is there, it is a simple thing to overlook.

Outland - on. Absolutely positively must be ON, since you won't make it past 67 without grinding and you need 68 to go North.

North - on. Surprisingly, even with the option ON there, the bot won't grind too much.

Classic - better be off, if you are Alliance and On if you are Horde.

I use Kick for both sides as it is very AFKable.

You can't just say yes or no.
Ich change the KillBetweenHotspot setting for nearly every quest. Here are to examples which require the setting to be enabled:

1. The quest objective is to kill a mob in a cathedral. To get there you need to pass many mobs.
If you don't kill them before attacking the quest mob, they will all engage when you attack it. so you'll get killed over and over.
Enable it, and the bot will clean the area before.

2. You need to collect certain items with mobs nearby. You could just collect the items without bodypulling the mobs. But those mobs belong to a quest.
So instead of just doing objective after objective, enable KillBetweenHotspots and the bot will kill the mobs without even knowing
that they belong to a quest. Once it gets to the objective, you already finished the quest. =)

I just manually grind out a few levels with semi-AFK questing with CombatBot. It only takes a couple of hours anyway which are the toughest part at 64-66 with Kick's scripts.

I keep it turned on because you will find sometimes you will out level a certain area but you will be under leveled for the next area, so when using the kill between hotspots it give you that little extra experience that might gain you the level you need to move onto the next zone, saving time, quicker leveling. and not dieing as much.

if your doing RAf and supervizing, then id turn it off, else leave it on because its gonna grind when it runs out of quests for the checkpoint anyway

Only when I know the mobs give alot of profit, like farming instances or old raids.

Edit: Saw it was for questing, then I want it to be done ASAP so I'd say no here.

I leave it on, and because it kills on the way to the quest obj it rarely has to grind...maybe just for rep in nagrand...I think that was one of the few areas it annoyed me lol

honorbuddy always switches kill between hotspot and loot bakck on, even after saving and closing.... so i guess i dont have a choice.

Nope, turn it off. With heirlooms it's ridiculous fast until 80 anyway, and even then with mobs with fast respawn it will kill them for hours until you tell it otherwise. But what I find annoying is that the bot targets opposing faction members if the server in question is PVE. It will literally attempt to attack AFK hordes and will attempt to follow them. This is why you can't leave the bot unattended.
