[Plugin] A ChuckyEgg Attempt! - PartyLeader PartyDude, for Co-Op Botting

Exactly same problem with new version, also i found that another copy of "CommsCentre" folder created in the root folder where the folder of db is located.
I mean in settings i put D:\ for both plugins. And in real there are 2 folders created.
1. D:\CommsCentre
2. D:\1\1\1\CommsCentre

And DB is located in D:\1\1\1\DB

That's very strange!

I wonder where it's getting those 1\1\1\

-------------------
I may have to go back to a previous version, where I did not strip the extra code. It looks like I may have removed some code I should not have. But I still don't know how it is messing up the folders like that???

I just added a previous version to the download list. The one just before I stripped out the excess code.
If that is still causing that problem, then I'll just have to cry, lol.

I'm out of here till the morning, it's midnight here.

wow, this is the most promising projetct for me!:)

This could be used as a leveling help, so when u hand controll leader with a low char, buddy(s) kill monsters for u!

And hc botting could be also with a great combo of heals and buffs!
great job, id even pay for it when its finished completly!;)

1/1/1 is not the main, was lazy to write real folders.....
The problem remains with old version
I wanted to say that there are 2 foders created. One in real and one in folder where folder of db is located.
Tried to change folder th the second one D:\1\1\1\. Same problem.

I think somewhere the code is abit fuzzed. Its looking for D:\Comms\\Comcenter and removing the \ makes it D:\CommsComcenter so it slightly fubars it

ChuckyEgg - I haven't had a chance to check this out since your earlier versions, and I don't have time just yet (still super-busy with stuff myself).

BUT - it sounds like you have got some sort of comms system working. Please catch me on IRC, or forum PM's, if this is something I can add support for in Trinity. Anything I can do at all that will allow your plugin to send commands to each bot's Trinity, I would love to try and help you with. Whether it be as basic as co-ordinated town-runs, or more complex things such as reporting stucks (so the stuck bot can teleport out and click the banner of a NOT stuck bot), or sharing targets, locations, anything at all - let me know.

If you have a working comms system for multiple bots/DB's that I can also communicate with from Trinity level then I think there's a lot of potential for us working together, and yours is a plugin I would happily spend some time/effort on supporting.

And this is why I love Giles ....and wouldn't it then need to be called ... quadrilogy?

its still the same problem for me. old and new version. both teleport to leader-->lost the leader-->teleport back and again... tried it on 2 vm with mapped network drives., different folders. ALso forcing the follower to wait a few seconds while next to the leader doesnt change anything.

Very strange, I cannot reproduce this error for myself, and I set paths within the config window to many locations.

ah... DING... I think I know what the problem is.... BIG DOH on my part if it's so.
Actually, if this is what I think it is, then it would explain the problem with it getting stuck in that TP/Banner loop..... the leader will have been prevented from updating the Coordinates file.

All was well with the system the day before yesterday, but then I added the Config GUI to PartyDude, and the COMMS settings within the GUI, for the user to set. Prior to doing that I just had constants set to the paths of the database folder and its files.

Okay, gonna remove the download link, as that version is TOTALLY broken.

I'll be sure to do that :)

I just need to sort these problems out, which I believe are caused by just a single error by myself. This is why testing should be carried out thoroughly after changes. I rushed the last bit, bad, bad me, lol

This is totally confuzzling me, I'm flummoxed to the max!

I have had the party run for some hours (Act 1 Champ Farming) with no problems, after tidying up the code and eliminating file access exceptions (using try/catch ... slack of me not to have used them before).

The path/folder issue, I have been unable to reproduce.
The TP/banner loop seems to have gone (I did witness that for myself), although it may be the path/folder issue that caused it, therefore not being able to reproduce the path/folder problem, means that I cannot be sure the looping has been solved.

One bit of bad news, it looks like this plugin does not like Trinity. During the test runs today, the Trinity controlled WD was moving oddly, jerkily, and the bot and D3 kept on crash. So I switched it to Belph. and it's been perfectly fine now for some hours.
I'll check my Trinity version against the latest one, before I decide for sure there is a problem with the plugin running with Trinity.

I am running with the latest version of DemonBuddy, and this version seems to be very stable.

With so many reports about the path/folder issue, it must exist, but damned if I can reproduce it, and it was not what I thought in my previous post.

Trinity - It did work fine for me when I ran the plugin as a Follow.Me with me in control of the leader, but it's not liking it as a fully automated party..... odd, strange, weird!!!????

D:\Dropbox\Demonbuddy\!Bots\1\Demonbuddy.exe
This is place where my DB folder is located

Finally, I have reproduced the path/folder problem, and it happens when the check on party integrity is activated.

When this first happened, I noticed it appeared to have stopped writing the leader's coordinates to the PathCoordates file, but in actual fact it was still writing it, only it had changed the location of the file !
Funny thing is, if you then deactivate the Check On Party, everything starts working again!?!? damn my crappola memory!

So, where the file should have been say at C:TEMP\CommsCentre
It was now at C:\TEMP !!!!!!
(as alluded to in a post above by one of you guys)

Dammit, now to figure out where exactly this is being reset

The Check On Party is affecting it, so that's where I need to start my investigation......

double DAMMIT!

D:\Dropbox\Demonbuddy\!Bots\1\Demonbuddy.exe
This is place where my DB folder is located

It's the Check On Party that is causing the problems.
Because it somehow resets the location of the PathCoordinates file, the follower no longer can read it, as it is now no longer looking at up-to-date coordinates. The leader is now writing its coordinates to a file that the followers are not aware of, they cannot read it.....

doubly dibbly dammit......

anyway, back to the searching...

------
stuck in the Loop/Banner
That was caused because the PathCoordinates file the follower was reading had the old coordinates of the leader, and those coordinates could be a long way from the location where the follower rejoins the leader via the banner. Therefore the OutOfRange check made to see if the follower has lost the leader, always used the old coordinates of the leader, which was a long way off.

Anyway, again, now I know what area is causing the problem, I just need to locate the actual code that is at fault :)

Any ideas what setup of classes will be best, have a ww barbwith high dps.

I'd say a mix of Barbs and Monks, but I'm not really that knowledgeable about the game.

--------------
OMG, bad mistake....

The actuall cause of the problem is the saving of the data when the Config GUI contents are changed.

I was not adding the Path + Folder name to the name of the files, I was only adding the Path

So, instead of adding C\TEMP\ + CommsCentre to PathCoordinates, thus getting
C:\TEMP\CommsCentre\PathCoordinates

I was only adding C:\TEMP\

thus resulting in all new coordinates being wriiten to
C:\TEMP\PathCoordinates

I'll make the necessary changes, then run more test runs.

THEN, I'll create a dedicated thread for this.

I was wondering why the beep I had no problems with this the day before yesterday!!! I was using variables that held the full path, e.g.
string pathCoordinates = "C:\TEMP\CommsCentre\PathCoordinates";

Yeah Chucky, excellent work. I have used your first version and it shows SO much potential, and did work with 4 bots running same champs profile. Your newest versions with the comm file is brilliant work, and I'm sure Giles can help you work out the bugs with Trinity Interaction. If Trinity and Dudes can work with each other, we'll be unstoppable. I'm ready to donate to your work Chucky, and re-donate to your's Giles, the profits will come rolling in faster once 4 bots can gang bang MP8-10 in record times. Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys... :)

You'll have to hang on to your draws, the plugin will be posted in the late AM of tomorrow GMT... Bedtime for me now :)

The version of Trinity I was using is ancient, so the chances are it should be fine. I've not had a chance to try it, but i did run the party for a good number of hours, and from different drive locations for the COMMS database, with no problems what-so-ever.

One thing I noticed, is that it might be a good idea to add to the Config GUI, the ability to change the distance that the plugin considers the follower to have lost the leader. Different people may favour different values for this, but it will be something I'll add later, after the first official release.

Anyway, nuts to this, time to knock myself out and go to the land of nod..... hopefully it will be full of lots of naked imps and fairies... cheeky little female types, that is ;)
Not too little!

cant wait to get my pc and use this as my first botting experience in d3:) awesome work!
