The way that the profiles are groupped together it looks like there are tons of profiles out there. The reality is that there are a lot more horde profiles than alliance profiles. If people could see there's only really 1 decent 70-80 alliance profile, they might make some more. There's also only 1 decent 1-60 alliance profile. It's really misleading.

Couldn't agree more.

Then there would need to be a section for "Neutral" profiles as well. For simple profiles it takes about a minute to change the vendor and mailbox if you need to update the faction. C'mon people stop being lazy! I would rather check one place in the forums instead of three places. It's not that hard to check if your 1-XX profile is horde or alliance, they are usually geared towards certain race starting zones. In all honesty we don't need more 1-60 profiles, we just need one that works well.

You wouldn't check 3 places. You would check the faction you're looking for.

I agree with this. It's a mess atm.

I agree, it would be better organised into Horde, Alliance and Neutral sections.

It would create nothing but a nightmare to manage and find decent profiles.

Neutral profiles really ruin this idea.

Yeah, most profiles aren't neutral so this really doesn't apply. It's also not so simple as just changing a vendor as most new profiles that are good now include quests! I can't accept quests in horde towns... I also don't get the same quest lines, so it's not so simple. Honestly though, this minor tweak would let everyone see EXACTLY what is out there at the click of 1 button.

and feel free to 5 star this if you'd like attention brought to it... that's what gets noticed, think about the threads you click on first

I think I'm going to have to agree with this, although my vote would be to include another sub-section for "Neutral Profiles" as well.

I'd also like a separate section for questing profiles, from grinding. Questing profiles would also be more likely to be faction specific.

Edit: And to not make it way too complicated, rather than sort them by level, merge all the current level 1-60 etc profiles into one section, then split it into faction, then grind/quest.

Although I like the idea of this, we just don't have enough acceptable profiles to warrant that type of thing. You can literally browse 10 profiles and see the entire library.

Would be better to use an addon for vBulletin like DownloadsII for releases, profiles, ccs, and anything else downloaded instead of forums. Could organize it much better. Would also stop people from going "Where do I download this" If they couldn't find the downloads button at top then I could be like your dumb.

I think a lot of people who are new here expect profiles to work when they download them from here not realizing the evolution HB has undertaken, with all the changes (good and bad) HB goes through a lot of profiles simply don't work, although a small tweak might make them work. I suggest a tag inside each profile when created to define what version it was designed to work with MAY help alleviate some problems.

The devs also need to provide a list of difference in profiles between HB releases when they release a new version, so people have the ability to fix a profile for themselves easily (release notes for 1.9.5.5 should list differences between profiles to 1.9.5.4 (or whatever)). I am sure there are a lot of people here who put a lot of effort into profiles and suddenly with a new release of HB they stop working, the devs provide no real guide to what has changed, instantly pissing off the user base who have worked so hard to make their own profiles and share with the community. I am sure most of the profiles here could easily be fixed and updated to a new release with not much work at all, but without much guidance it isn't going to happen.

Maybe it would be better to break the profiles immediately after a new release into "Works with version x.x.x.x of HB" and "May or may not work, probably needs some tweaking to get it to go" Unfortunately the people who control the this board have intimate knowledge of changes that happen in HB and fail to comprehend the frustration of paying customers not being able to use the profiles provided here by both devs and end users alike. Does anyone really want to test a 1-12 profile on a new character, NO, they want to keep leveling with the character they have got, not wait days or weeks for some kind soul to fix what the devs broke in an effort to improve HB, yes they could use an old version but whats the point of that, no testing of the new one. I am happy to fix my favorite profiles between releases, least I could do, some guidance appreciated.
