Just a random thought, but... since WoW admins monitor number of harvests, kills, etc everyone does a day. Wouldn't it stick out like a sore thumb that after the patch was released a player's stats went to NILL. And, like clock work, as soon as the HB release comes out to counter the patch, that person's activity resumed to "normal" (relative) level? If I were a WoW admin looking for botters, that's what I would look for first, sounds like an easy thing to run a check against and pull a report.

A couple of days of reduced activity should not flag you, after all heaven forbid you might have had something to do in real life ;p

Maybe so, maybe not. Just saying if I were an admin that's what I would look for if trying to find a botter - is suspicious timing is all. I definitely wouldn't straight out accuse them of botting, but I surely would start watching that person.

when you are investigated and a GM looks at your char he will see a lot of time leveling very fast 24/7 - while HB is down your char levels slow, makes quests and only levels some hours a day - even less and during daytimes - when HB is back online your char will level 24/7 again..

... and now you'll tell me this will look normal?? I think it looks more just not to log in for 2 weeks. Like a china farmer or whatever who is just 2 or 3 weeks on holydays...

Blizzard could most likely very easily tell who is botting by several methods. Checking who is on 24/7, etc. However it all comes down to money. Blizzard are happy to make it look like they are doing something, because then they dont loose customers. They dont care if you bot, they just care about them loosing money because botters might ruin other players game expirence. There isnt really the financial incentive to eliminate botting completely.
