I've used BGBuddy or Millz' BGfarmer and geared up multiple toons with it completely AFK, it all comes down to how you're setting it up and how deep into the customization you go, especially with good CRs and the nav settings. The default settings will get you banned incredibly quickly from player reports, and Gilneas is probably the most obvious offender.

It's not that I think BGfarmer is inherently detectable through automated systems so there is no reason to get rid of it, I can surmise that ~95% of the BG related bans are from people not taking the time to properly set up their bot and settings.

For instance, you're a healer, and the only one in the BG, and you're sitting defending a back node because the bot logic says you should? How long do you think it will take before ~50+ reports roll in from that behavior?
