People (on my server, in the top 20 of population) are raging against BG bots...

I'd be careful. People are making it a hobby, at least on my server, of going out of there way to report BG bots...

...and yesterday, I _almost_ reported my first player

I don't care if people bot on their own to level or even gather and make/sell gold as it really doesn't affect me. And of course, I casually bot so hey...

...but I like to PvP and do a bunch of BGs and while I know you can use HB to bot in BGs, i've never tried nor would I because 1) it's fun for me and 2) it's so noticable.

Anyway, yesterday I kept seeing /bg chat of report player X, he is bot and other chiming in on other players to stop even in the middle of the BG and be sure to report player X.

Funny thing is later in the hour, I did a WSG BG and there was someone clearly botting who was for some reason not moving from the rez spot, but trying to, turning around, and casting two area effect spells, then repeating...all near the rez spot.

When you have a 9 person team trying to win and 1 person is doing that, it really hurts your chances.

Everyone reported this player and at least on my server, I see people almost spending more time looking for BG bots than fighting initially.

That person for sure will have lost their account so be careful.

If you're going to bot in a BG where you affect other people, I'd even say be very careful. The non-botters are going out of there way to report you and in this case, even this casual botter might do it if it's so damn obvious and ruining the experience for everyone.

Sure, this guy was an idiot as he gives a bad name to botters and even makes this botter want to report him.

Hmmmmmmm......well first off COOL STORY BRO!!!!!!. second off i don't see how you can say anything or jugde the bots people use that you also use. People shouldnt bot in pvp because you find it fun. Well how about you shouldnt use GB because the people who hand farm get pissed that you can take there nodes/herbs and in the end there gold profit. So before you try to call out another botter by there server/name just think your doing the same thing they are you just do it in pve and they do it in pvp. and its bg's dude dont get pissed if you were that serious about pvp then you would gear up and do arenas or rated bg were the bots wont be a problem.

I don't care what people do with them per se, I'm just saying be careful.

On my server for sure, it's almost a religious zeal in which people are reporting BG bots. Almost every BG I see someone mentioning or asking if player X looks like a bot.

Maybe it's just my server that is having a backlash against them, or it's on all of them (I recently came back to WoW so not sure how it's been).

So I'm just saying watch your bot for a bit to make sure it's ok because yesterday I'm sure a few people lost their accounts. Well, as much as I can bet on it, I'm sure. Everyone in multiple BGs would take time out, then chime in that they just finished reporting player X.

It's like they rather take time out in the middle of a BG to report a player and lose even, to make sure that botter is gone.

Again, it might just be the culture/atmosphere on my server, who knows... But I was laughing because since I bot a little myself, you recognize things so much easier...

I have the names of the players people were all reporting so I'll check the armory mid-week to see if they are still around. If you're account is banned, will the toons still show up there?

I'm not being a hypocrite, I'm saying just be careful. Otherwise I'd not post as I'd not give a shit.

Of course saying be careful should go without question but with the quirks and updates of the new HB, just an extra warning of being careful.

MODS - just delete this thread since it seems my attempt at telling people to be careful and watch their bots in BGs right now isn't being well received. I'll keep it to myself from now on.

and fyi botters and reporters are two different community. You will not find anyone on this site that will report another for botting just because all the other kids on the playground are doing it. Try helping out fellow botters when they are being accused of botting instead of posting a i want to get flamed story on here. Maybe you should think hey maybe i should help out these guys because these stupid noobs that are botting in bg's just might be the guy that writes my free plugins,profiles,cc,updates

Also, my bot rapes in BG! Sure it doesn't cap flags n shit, but it runs interference and rapes alliance. Think of me as a 14 yr old who doesn't read the battlegrounds chat.

Well I think my problem is using my humor to say I'd almost report him because he looked so bad...is taken as like I was actually considering reporting him.

I know joking sometimes in texts/email can be taken the wrong way and I now see why people are reading my post the wrong way.

I'll edit the main one to make it very clear (I'm sitting here pissed because I meant to just help give a warning and instead I'm coming off as some bad guy which makes me say to hell with it then).

But since it's clear my message came off the wrong way, sorry.

People here have been a big help to me but it seems I came off with the wrong way to say I what I was trying to say. And in return I'm getting defensive.

In short, just watch your BG bots right now because I think people (again, at least on my server), are being extra sensitive to them.
