make sure you have the most recent drivers (or best drivers) for your video card(s)

Check your BIOS make sure you have the latest version. These "Black Screens" you described seem more like a communication issues between your motherboard and your graphics card. You have already done everything that I would have recommended before hand except for one. Take out your graphics card and put it back in. Sometimes something as simple as reseating a card can fix the issue. Either way I would still look into the BIOS to make sure it up to date.

It also could be a RAID0 caused problem. If one of the HDD's have some trouble (damadged sectors), a RAID0 won't work like it should.
Try to set up w/o RAID0. 150GB isn't that much so you can easy backup your stuff on another HDD.
Anyway, no offence to you, but a hardware RAID controller is always better then the onboard shit

.Did you try this? I had this same exact problem in Vista a few years ago, but the problem originally ocurred because I was using an older version of Windowblinds (It didn't bother me enough to uninstall it)
Disable Windows Aero as Kick has said above and it shouldn't try switching themes anymore - this is usually caused by a conflict with another program, not any kind of hardware issue.

This is exactly what happens when it's trying to change themes, so it has everything to do with your main problem
It takes two seconds to try out, unless you already have which hasn't been clearly stated yet.

Ok.. take your computer, open it up, blow it out. Specially your fans on your vid card and pretty much all fans there. That won't fix it, but might help tad.
Sounds like you have some bad drivers somwhere.. your *BEST* bet.. and although might not be what you want to hear.. start from scratch. You've probably installed/uninstalled alot of stuff over time and its caused some issues. Start from scratch, fresh OS and Updates then Updated Drivers THEN start with your Games and such.
Sounds crazy and yes takes awhile.. but i think you'd be better off in the long run (but don't forget to blow your system out with compressed air (i have a mini compressor that works wonders for this exact thing but i know thats probably not an option for you)
