So I was looking to expand how many bots I was running and bought a bunch of accounts during the 75% off sale. About 2 weeks later all of the accounts were banned in one swell swoop. I didnt care really because I bought them with money from selling wow gold, but I thought what the hell, why not open a dispute anyways. About a week later I finally got a reply back saying that all of my money was being reimbursed because I didnt get all the time I was promised.

Dear,

We've completed our review and decided this case in your favor. You will receive a $12.49 USD refund from Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. The refund amount should reflect in your PayPal balance within 5 business days, if not sooner. If you paid with a credit card, the money is refunded to your credit card. Please note that it can take up to 30 days for the refund to appear on your card statement.

Its really weird though, so all of them are getting reimbursed but some say they are not going to charge the seller, and paypal will pay me, and others say that they are...even though they are the same item.

I didnt care about getting my money back but I sure am happy that I am getting it all back I think its hilarious.

Fraud? How so? All I said was that I didnt get the 30 days I paid for when purchasing my account.

It's not fraud if you didn't receive the service you paid for, I don't think they take *****ing in a game into account although I think it's a grey area.

Well Blizzard did respond to the claim, im assuming they presented that I botted. I guess paypal doesnt give a sh*t.

They will absorb it and may treat it as fraud in order to cover their losses, They most likely said you broke ToS but all PayPal sees is that you didn't get the 30 days you paid for, they usually side with the customer. The system itself is based on trust and the customer comes first.

The amount of time it took to get the money back etc means it wasn't even probably worth filling out the claim form.

i tried this a couple of times. paypal always decided in blizzards favor.
it was always the same reply to me. paid "item" was a virtual item, no buyer protection. last time i tried it was about 6 month ago.
maybe in the may banwave where i lost some dozens accounts.

yea- sorry I'm going to call BS..

Paypal offers NO protection on virtual items, you cant even start a claim.

World of Warcraft is not a 'Virtual Item' it is an online service according to Paypal, Also even in the digital download version, it is still a tangible item, because you can purchase the play discs in a store.

actually i dont know about your country, but paypal have changed their policy within the UK a few months ago to allow the use of virtual items to be disputed under their policy.

so, they now DO cover virtual items in the UK atleast.

If you look when filing a dispute, incomplete duration is a thing, which is what I filed it under.

Na dude, I bought an account because i wanted the free 90 and thought i could just xfer it over to my real account, then i changed my mind. and did a return. A GM said yes, but a few days later still no refund, I opened a ticket with paypal and it was done with in hours.

He is disputing ownership of the game, not virtual goods

Well sir you are a god send! Good job getting your money back and sticking it to the man!
