Paying for a BETA - My DemonBuddy analysis

It just got released but it has been tested for more than a week, at least first date was 1 June, and by then the bot was already done but they were fixing some issues, the thing is, how can they not notice the bot attacked lasers on the ground? how can they not notice the bot prefers to loot items instead of fighting mobs who are attacking you?

Yeah, I realize that, but I tried another bot, and they had problems for awhile. Same with the updates breaking everything, so it's probably the case that Demonbuddy is just a leetle behind. It is disappointing because a lot of those bugs/glitches should have been noticed. The default item rules itself is atrocious.

The default item rules itself is atrocious.

They may be atrocious for your wanted items, but for the general public they're what we felt would be best. (Pick up everything useful, keep rares, sell blues) There's also a few example rules for people thrown in to ensure people know what things do. You're more than welcome to change them to fit your itemization needs.

Agreed. However like Omega said, other bots have had some bad issues too. The "other" popular bot had absolutely horrible issues with attacking invisible mobs upon release that had a big impact on GPH....but it was fixed.

If you'd like to see our pages and pages of "unspotted bugs that never got fixed before you got the bot" I'd be happy to show them to you.

We're a very small team, and its just not possible for us to catch all the bugs. This is why we've included an updater in the bot, to ensure we can push fixes quickly over the next few days. We haven't been able to test on level 60s of every class in every combo of monster affixes and the like. We've already fixed the "attacking shit you can't actually attack" bug (arcane lasers), as well as added item ID'ing on vendor runs to avoid getting in a loop selling them to a vendor unidentified.

The bot 5 days ago, is a completely different beast to what it is today. Give us a bit of time to iron out the kinks we couldn't catch in our internal testing.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear, after the today's release and after finding multiple bugs, the bot has been updated 3 times, specially because people reported the bugs, for the Devs if you know whats wrong you can fix it, the thing is I am really sure that 70% of the people who had early access just left the bot farming Royal Crypts.

There are 2 profiles made by BuddyTeam, which makes me thing that those were the only ones you used to test aswell, because if you had more profiles you would have released them, plus the profiles are easy to create, it doesn't take more than 2 minutes to make a Core of Arreat profile.

I can't understand how you release a bot that hasn't been tested enough. I know that there were much more bugs that were fixed, but the thing is, did you not notice the bot was attacking lasers? Today my bot already faced almost 10 Arcane Enchanted mobs, and this was in 3 hours, how can not 5 people(considering only 5 people accessed DB Testing) see this in 5 days? Wether you saw it and you just thought it wouldn't be a big deal, which goes agains what you guys said by not releasing it earlier (Quality Issues), or you didn't even tested it, and Jar farm all the way.

Extend the "reduced price" period then until the bot can do everything it says.

For example when you see the page to buy the bot it lists "leveling". It is my impression that DB can't do that (either lack of profiles or logic, still i only regard leveling the completion of all 4 acts in the first 3 difficulties). As it is now it's a bit of false advertising. And of course there's the bugs. 1 week is a limited amount of time to decide whether to buy or not. From your sayings i believe you won't have the bot ready in a week (ready = on par with the competition).

Someone could tell me: If you don't like it, don't buy it. Well that's what i am doing so far. But i like what the bot could become, so i feel safe expressing my opinions.

I'd have to agree. If I was running this on act 1 inferno it would be fine. Give it some time to iron out kinks. At least it's not getting dDOS-ed to death.

I understand this, but that's not what I'm referring to. The bot doesn't want to sell, and when I protected the whole stash, the bot opened it, and just sits there. it doesn't seem like everyone has these issues, though.

I personally have around 20 different profiles, however I won't be releasing any of them (they were literally to test certain things and the like). We released 1 profile that is currently the "big gold farm" as well as another to show the profile tag options for another big gold farm. As you stated, the profiles are easy to write, so we didn't feel we needed to release internal profiles we used for testing.

During my personal testing, I came across 6 packs of arcane mobs and the bot cleaned them up quickly without even thinking about the orbs, this may have been attributed to mob positioning, being a ranged toon, or similar, but I never encountered the bug.

And yes, you're correct, I left my bot farming crypts for many hours while I slept (why not? Easy gold!) but that wasn't the bulk of our testing.

Even blizzard, a multi billion dollar company can't get their software right after 3 weeks of release and 11 years in the making ... Keep botting, report the bugs, bot will improve daily until it gets to a pleasing stable state. It's still fresh, but in the long run it will be the best one in my opinion. I wont be using this on my accounts right now, I will test it just on one so I can learn how to use it and then move my accounts to this bot once it's been significantly improved .. I also, am a little disappointed that it took so long to release and my "basic" alternative bot is out performing this one by quite a lot. Right now I can't even figure out how to simply set my character to grind a certain area for 2-4 minutes etc. in order to level it. I will keep poking at it!

Another thing is, BuddyWing and if I still remember correctly Ryftomate, before they were sold they had a free beta, and it was working better than this thing you are selling. Why was there no open beta before you sell the product? As you said its something with 5 days and its already enough to be sold?

PS: Here's another bug

If you have 3 free slots like this

And you have an item on the ground that uses 2 slots, it still tries to pick it even though it is not able to because there is no space for the item.

If you recall, I made several posts that I wasn't happy with the bot and I postponed the release twice. Over 1000 people posted demanding that we release anyway because right now it works and everyone knows that it will carry on being developed.

We will get levelling working smoothly. We will have profiles for nice gold farms as they are discovered. We will be doing this for years just like with HB. For now, the bot is functional and its dirt cheap. If you want to wait for it to be completely done and pay more, that is OK as well. And if its any consolation, I appreciate the bug reports.

You know why people are so frustrated Apoc? Exactly what I said in the other thread.

You guys announced this 2 weeks before D3 came out. That's 6 weeks ago. And there's another bot that came out on week 1 that already DESTROYS this (and let me tell you, it's bad enough on it's own...).

I highly doubt that the VS guy has more people working on it than you. And again, we caught these issues within the first 15 minutes.
It feels like this has been in development for 2 days, not 6 weeks (actually more since your first vid is that old).

We're disappointed because we expected more after all this time. And, to me personally, Tony tell me that the bot sucking was my fault, was practically an insult.

Too many new people to this community, or atleast unexperienced. Just look at HB. Have you seen what it has turned into after some work by the community building CCs, profiles constantly updating it. Now HB imo is the only choice. Have some patience people. The bot is working fine for me, doing 220k/core and I'm happy with it. Just wait a couple of weeks once small updates have been made here and there and people have started making CCs. This will be THE bot, just wait and see.

We didn't feel the need to do an open test for this (mostly due to the sheer amount of headaches the others caused).

Thanks for the bug report, I'll fix that right now. (Could have sworn I fixed that, but it must have been for the stash only)

I can agree with most of the things but in the long run DB will win over the other bots....trust me :)

People are whining, the program is new, not so many testers have been testing it from what it seems... so just give it some time till everything is fixed.

Btw APOC how do I get my Lifetimer status in forums if I bought it?

The devs really have to take so much bullshit from a lot of forum users. The same users who cried for weeks, and demanded that the bot was to be released. Now the crying continues, that its not what they expected...

I believe the bot is very nice (for a first release), and yes, I tried several others.. I will stick with Demonbuddy, as I know it's developed with quality in mind, and flaws will be corrected soon enough. Now instead of just QQ'ing, let's see some good reports of bugs, profiles etc. let's as an community help the development, in whatever ways we can..

Buddy team, this does have warden protection correct? Didn't see it listed at all on the purchase page.
