I knew there was a patch but had not logged off in order to avoid it. A few minutes ago though I was DCd and am at the Blizzard screen that tells me "Patch required. Press the quit button below to exit World of Warcraft and download the patch". Any way to skip patch and log in? If so, detailed instructions would rock.

Thanks!

As far as i know.. Nop, theres no way to avoid it. It used to be a way via WoW Repair Tool, but thats no longer possible since Repair Tool now downloads latest .exe file, that is, patched. Im afraid that your'e stuck like the rest of us xD

My Loader seems broken and crashes when I open it. Forces me to use WoW.exe in my WoW folder. Doesn't up date and all my realms say Incompatible but I still can play and bot just fine...

No clue why my Loader creashes...

If you didn't update, you can login through the WoW.exe (or relogger) and the servers will say incompatible or something. You'll actually still be able to login to your char, but you'll won't be able to do certain things in the game.

Haven't updated and I am trying to relog with just my WoW.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft folder, but it takes me to the login screen which takes me to the "Patch required. Press the quit button below to exit World of Warcraft and download the patch".

Have tried double-clicking the Exe file, running as Admin and with high priority. Any thoughts?

Thx.

Does it say OCT 29 2014 in the left corner?

Unfortunately, there is no way around it. Every time you try to log into their server, they do a check on your current version of WoW. There is no way around their patches unless you run a private instance of WoW on a private server.

If you could bypass it, it wouldn't be required, now would it?

Just be patient and wait.

What?

You are saying that things that one party says are required cannot be bypassed? /facepalm

I'm saying it's a required update so just deal with it. I'm not saying it cannot be bypassed, but considering you have to update your game to be able to connect to the server, the only way is to be able to connect to the server with an older version of the game, which isn't an easy fix.

You're better off learning to play or taking a break.

Stop proliferating bad information. Many do not have to update in order to connect / re-connect. Unfortunately I was DCd and it engaged the Patch Required screen. In many cases this can be bypassed simply by launching without the launcher. If you cannot answer correctly, please do not do so at all. While I am sure you think your nonconstructive reply of 'just wait' is genius, I assure it isn't and you should not have wasted your time or mine.

Bold txt is actually not correct. They dont require update to switch character or change servers as they were logged in before patch.

The sistem works like this: Blizz server does version check of your WoW.exe when you try to log in, if version matches you can log in and play the game, if not you need to patch it, that is, to upgrade to correct version. BUT if you are already logged in and new version went live you are ok because you passes initial version check. In this case if you disconnect from the server for any reason and try to log back in blizz servers will again do version check and see that your WoW.exe version is not matching its latest version and ask you for an update.

Thats pretty much it, its classic update check and theres no way to buypass it, so, if you end up DCed for any reason, you are stuck on manual play like many of us.

No the system doesn't work just like that it seems. For I could login just "fine" last night.

Clicking on the realm, you will be directed to the character screen and can login to your char. I couldn't interact with npc's in my garrison though as seen in picture 3.
