Patch 1.0.8 Preview

"The only changes we've confirmed to be working on for 1.0.8 are Identify All, a new multi-craft option, monster density adjustments, and AH comparison tooltips"

so patch 1.0.8 will pretty much bring nothing . expect profits to lower even further :)

Monster density adjustments... maybe I can set some bots to do other zones.

The legendary market just opened up quite a bit with every legendary in the game now rolling 60 stats.

I express my pessimism on this one.

Gearing/Itemization is still uncreative even if lower tier legs/sets start with ilvl 63 base dmg/armor:

- Rings/Gloves/Amulets: Can't move away from Trifecta + Main Stat
- Helm: Can't move away from Mempos
- DH Weapon: Can't move away from Dual Socket Manticores
- Best 2H Melee Weapon: Can't move away from Skorn
- Best WD 1H Weapon: Manajuma's Carving Knife
- Non-DH Classes Weapon: Can't move away from Life Steal + Crit + Socket + Main Stat
- WW Barbs: Can't move away from Fast Offhand: Life Steal + Crit + Socket + Main Stat + Atk Speed

Unless they allow stacking of fixed affixes with random affixes and buff the number of random affixes on legs/sets, allowing lower tier legs/sets to start with ilvl 63 base stats will still result in trash (maybe with the exception of Leorics/Cains Set for bot farmers).

I have a feeling that if gear is evened out, or made 'creative' then those items listed with those stats that are super rare become less valuable, seems they want everything kind of equal?

I see the ranges of items being currently priced from 25k-250mil going to 2.5mil avg or something for example (if theyre all supposed to be decent and lower drop rate)

Botting is great bc you can gather more of those super rare items (and filter out the non quite easily without going insane) than the average player...

sure botting will still be profitable, you will just get more of those avg priced 2.5 mil items, kind of takes away that wow-factor from botting to me, but we will see. I probably won't stop, I've botted wow for like 6 years lol

WoW is still the most profitable to bot game.

i dont see it man , the light at the end of the tunnel for diablo3 and if the game is not good profits are not good as it is today
wow is 100 times better then diablo because u have stuff to do the grinding has a purpose get the best gear to do something while in diablo it is all bullshit you get the best gear but what for lol to farm mp10 and ? there is no reward for it . they weren't even able to implement a fuking pvp :)
you have to think like a player not like a botter :D

gold is going down every week . patch 1.0.8 doesnt bring anything just more people will leave until then

the legs improvement will create a small gear reset for the fanbois and diehards for a few weeks when it might be profitable again . after that all will be dead again .no purpose for that gear no playerbase :)

This is going to be shit for all of us botters. Why?
* For a supergood item to drop we need to bot at higher MP-level.
* For a supergood item to drop we can achieve higher MP-level only with more people in a party so you can achieve higher MP-levels.

Use your brain retards, this means we actually have to start playing the game in order to find those items.
Ofcourse we'll find a way arround it but people are too happy with features they don't understand the meaning of, funny actually.

You should know Blizzard's mentality and work attitude by now...
Monster density adjustments -> Means they will nerf Act 3 Mob Density to balance other zones. Nerfing Act 3 is lesser work done than buffing Act 1/2/4.

Blizzard has been flip-flopping, being hypocritical, misleading to the point of lying. They did promise that they won't attempt to funnel players to higher MP Levels for the sake of obtaining the best loot.

But I won't be surprised that they go back on their word. Putting the best loot in the highest difficulty with the most inefficient returns per time spent was what addictive Korean/Jap games have been doing ala Skinner box/Slot machines style -> Operant conditioning chamber - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To improve RMAH tax returns, Blizzard must instil a false sense of loot rewards, enough area for bragging rights and addiction -> Blizzard hasn't been successful in this part yet.

I think of it more the pavlov style with a twitch of skinner.
Now we don't drool by a legendary drop with golden pillar.
But, in 1.0.8 you might get a golden pillar legendary drop and all of a sudden you get this feeling of ultimate reward (THIS COULD BE SOMETHING AWESOMMMMM).
This keeps happening and if everything is somewhat useful in its own way you simply start drooling every item that drops.

I don't really see too much operant conditioning here at all honestly. Everybody is already playing the game since playing it means achieving things. Thus the entire game is based upon operant conditioning, but this particular thing: 'every item itself could be something awesome' is more a form of pavlovian conditioning.

If I think abit further, purely hypothetical, I guess that by seeing a reward in every form of drop it creates this happy feeling and more 'purpose' in the game. Basically, they want us to be drooling every moment we see a golden pillar regardless of the outcome of the item (unid'd).

O well.. time to work further on my masterthesis psychology lolol

while completely removing the feature would in fact fix the problem it created, it would also create a void that the auction house was originally designed to address.

In fact, the auction house is the gold shitting donkey every company is dreaming of. Or you could say it is the philisophers stones. It makes gold [$] out of shit [Diablo3 gameplay]

This theory is indeed possible since the drop rate of legs/rares will be lowered to get more of them your will have to play at higher mp where the bonus item applies :) haven't thought about it this way so gearing in this case makes sense and this will effectively disable bots :) and this doesn't go against their saying that you have to play at higher mp to get good loot . You will simply get less loot at lower mps , in other words the mp affects the quantity of the loot not the quality - smart :)

And how it is different from now? its all about beeing efficient, not drop rates at all.

they said they will both lower the drop rate of rares and legs meaning you will not get as many as you get now while boosting the quality of the items . when you get an item it has a better chance of being good

they might do it in such a way that playing higher mps will be more efficient then running low mps

Talking about droprates is irrelevant. Discussing droprates with someone is even more irrelevant so why do you even bother writing irrelevant things about topics being irrelevant?
