Well... this is what i do.

Obisidium sells for 45-50g per stack on my server, so it's barely worth doing much with it.

With my jewelcrafter i prospect all the ores, i then do the following;

Blues= Cut any Uncommon blue gem (vendor for 9g)
Yellow= As above
Orange= Ditto
Purple= You guessed it, as above
Red= 3 of these make a spike which DE's into 1-3 Greater Celestial (25-60g each on my server). I was also Transmuting these with Heartblossoms into Inferno rubies when the price was above 70g. All depends on your server.

Green= Jasper ring and DE

You may be asking why i cut the gems like this and vendor... Well, 9g a pop is better than what they sell on my server and this means i can move very large quantities without having to worry about being detected / listing fees.

Jasper rings, well these only take 1 jasper and one setting meaning about 10g. These de into dust 1-3 (7-9g on my server) or 1-3 Lesser Celestial (8-10g).

This takes a bit of time, but it means that you can move large quantities of this ore without worrying about the ah. Gems can be stored in the bank for cutting as they stack quite nicely. Just by doing this "shuffle" I pay for the ore alone and the enchanting mats are all profit on top.

Take it or leave it. I've made alot of gold even before botting, using this method.

this is all from 12 hours of ore farming with the guild buff to increased mats from mining. when this all sold it made 20k g total. the ore itself would have been worth ~8k g. with professionbuddy to prospect all the mats it took ~800 prospecting casts. not that long at all. for a decent profit. i have been pretty conservative on my farming just so as not to draw any attention to myself so i usually do this once every 3 days or so. nets a decent profit when i want the quick cash

yes. the only ones that never seem to sell very well is the amberjewels. other than that it all sells within 12 hours. i also set my gems for 12 hours so i dont spend as much on the deposit. very rarely have i had to post anything back up except for the amberjewels.

Wasnt the saronite shuffle only done because the price of saronite was cheaper than the vendor price? as of right now saronite bars on my server are selling for 10g per and they vendor for 1g 25s. im honestly not sure if they are actually selling but they are still on the ah for decent profit atm

And people keep saying theres no gold to be made... stacks of saronite bar still vend for 25g so either way you can still do the saronite shuffle. But yes your right the prices of bars are back up. Something you vets might want to re consider Dont stray too far from sholazar basin

Obviously dumping everything raw on the AH is least time consuming but your server's demand for these goods is going determine how much gold you can make every day by doing this.

If you have the time, you can process the raw materials further so you can sell more ore/herbs per day. I have a main account that I do not bot on which contains all my crafters (note I dont bot on the account but I still use autoit scripts to mill and prospect which will get me banned if they ever catch me)

Ore
- sell raw and bars
- prospect and sell rare gems both cut and uncut
- sell common gems used for JC daily on the day they are needed (in lots of 3)
- craft and de rings for enchant mats and sell on AH
- make enchant scrolls from above enchant mats
- make rare blacksmith PvP armor

Herbs
- sell raw
- mill and sell inks
- make glyphs
- make darkmoon cards
- make mysterious fortune cards

Together, all of the above allow you to get rid of the most amount of ore and herbs than simply selling the raw mats.
