Opinions on this beast machine!

Like I said I have tried running the game (several years ago) on my old PC that was with 128MB RAM, so if what you're saying is true, then how can I do this on my current PC? Is it possible to make it use less than 100MB of RAM? If it's not possible then what is the point of this discussion, you suggest that he should buy 20x PCs mega cheap PCs with 128MB RAM ?

Not even remotely, and I have no idea what would make you believe that was the intent. The intent was to give a proper estimation of what was required to run that many copies of WoW. Looking into two or three slave machines running 10-15 bots each will most likely yield the best results instead of one mega machine. As for forcing WoW to run at its absolute minimum requirement you would have to restrict its resource allotment. Running it at the bare minimum will force the game to chop and lag.

Now here's another question, does your current system do anything besides slave wow bots? If we are trying to create slave computers and not a machine he uses in between botting then we can also force other requirements to lower the minimum standards that will not affect him. You wouldn't do such a thing on a regular usage computer.

Well while my bots are down I play games sometimes, but except WoWs I also run VMs with SWTOR... anyway I see your point, just like Windows 7 likes to eat as much as possible RAM, that I guess is the case with WoW and other games, so if you have 4GB of RAM for example, and you max it out, they will start lagging and try using less RAM? I guess that is what you mean?

Well your OS will first try to scale down your resources to where the program itself has its own resource scaling and may or may not allow the OS to scale past a certain point. Then what will happen is physical RAM switching which will cause lag as it forces the RAM to dump into your HDD to switch through programs. Short answer, yeah basically until Windows decides your programs are demanding more than resource scaling will fix and then BSD's you with RAM overflow.

It's gonna be a pure slave machine.

I can probably assemble a slave machine that will take care of your needs shortly. I have RL obligations, but afterwards I can sit down and start crunching numbers for you.

Thanks ;O

dunno if you can understand this website but, if ur gonna crunch numbers. Use this website as a reference since its the cheapest online computer hardware store in Norway. Komplett.no - Nettbutikk for datautstyr, PC, b?rbar PC, TV, foto, video og spill. , the search function is the one called "s?k". the rest is pretty easy to understand.

^^.

Dark57, if u are ever lurking around here. Im waiting for your opinion :P

Protip: CPU will be your limiting factor no matter what you do.

Ensure WoW (maybe 1-4 copies of it) are stored on an SSD, as well as your bots. (I have an SSD dedicated to WoW+HB, another for D3+DB, and another for the OS, with a 4th for other stuff [moved the tmp files dir, etc])

I run out of CPU power at around 60 copies of WoW+D3 running at once, and my memory usage is rarely above 20gb or so.

Add on top of that, the bots required, and it takes this total down to somewhere around 40 games + 40 bots.

Important specs:
4x OCZ Vertex4 256gb SSDs.
i7-3770k (OC'd to 5.1 on air)
32GB RAM (speeds don't matter with DDR3)
690GTX video card (could easily use a 400 series card and do just fine)

Edit: 30 running on 1 monitor (I run bots on 2 monitors, or just 1 depending on what I'm doing. New relogger handles window tiling) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2068143/Loltiles.png

How can you run so many bots?
Why did u choose i7 over i5?
Why use 4x ssd? So 1 wont be sufficient :S?
How about in terms of amd gpu's?

Ur such a beast apoc! Why spend 1k euro on a graphic card :P????

I used 4x SSDs for the read/write speed. (Different disks don't need to wait on eachother to write)

I run so many because I turn as much off in each game as possible, as well as a little render hack to turn even more stuff off. (WoW for example, takes ~200mb to run, D3 however, takes 400mb+ due to its silly UI stuff limiting it to a min of 800x600)

I chose the i7 because this is also a work machine, so I do want the extra speed afforded, and the higher clock speeds.

I haven't used AMD GPU's for many years (They always burn out on me) so I can't really give you an answer there.

But will 1 ssd with the limiting factor here for runing 20x wow/d3 + bots?

Probably still be CPU. (Turn your logging down on the bots to get some more performance)

Just got comments that this MB MSI B75MA-P45, Socket-1155 is not overclockable:S

Hey apoc,
What new relogger are you refering to? And is the window tiling automatic or does it have to be done manually?
I absolutely love the way you setup the windows and I would want it just like that!

i have the same processor as u wanna get its an awsome one i have the ati 7950 also good card and remember if u get an 1155 prosesor u need to get an 1155 mainbord to or els it wouldnt work.

i would not go for a graphics card with this name EVGA

if i was you take asus its the best i dont like others

i have this card

ASUS - Graphics Cards- ASUS HD7950-DC2T-3GD5
