Opening a mule account

Just lost my second wow account i'd use for botting. About to open another account, is it a good idea to do it under a whole different battle.net, because i'd love to just make a wow2 but I feel like that account may be banned as soon as I bot due to already losing wow1 to "hacks or third party programs". Does this matter?

Also where do you all buy your CD-keys? At battle.net it's $60 D:
 
Just open a new account, it's safer. Also don't use your name on them again, they also look for that. Purchasing at blizzard store can be risky because they can link the payment info together and still find you. I mean, you'll still have some good time botting, but you'll get caught fast.

Talking from experience, 12+ accounts banned.
 
Hypothetically, having a second account with a different name is ideal. I have seen some persons use their friend's names, or family, for new accounts, so if there is a mishap they have someone actually able to vouch/contact.
On the other hand, I know several people with name#2 accounts.

It is a matter of preference ... as for 'cheap keys', I'd suggest Googling "Wow battle chest" and see if there is a deal. Recently there was a link, floating about, that dropped the whole sha-bang down to 25-30$ USD.
I wouldn't expect those, who have these links, to share them - you'll get a generalized "Oh here this is..." (much like I've just done :p).

just more conjecture on your part...

Nobody knows how Blizzard picks accounts for banning. Nothing is 100% certain or secure. If you can't afford to lose it, don't bot it.
 
I'm detecting a bit of animosity between you and Pan, FB.
It is true that the means of which Blizzard goes about detecting/banning bots is unknown ... and yet, tis better to be prepared with paranoia than moving blindly toward an inevitable glass ceiling.
 
actually... you do realize its MORE suspicious to use different names and infos :) Blizzard does not ban for association, only an unrealistic benefit by another account. When the gatherers are banned do they ban the accounts of the guys who bought their ore? nope.

unless your going vmware, sandbox, static ip ***... there is absolutely no reason to use another name. I'd put my multiple gold capped accounts up in a bet on that. your going to use the same ip...same installations... of wow... etc...etc...
 
Why would you *love* to create a WoW2? Are you that lazy? Also, where is the question about a mule account?
 
This is coming from my experience, and I have attempted both ways. I use different named accounts with keys purchased outside of the Blizzard store. There are many ways of hosting/running and you can get into that elsewhere, a good discussion topic may be found here - vmware.

Various means of attempting to mask identity are used for some servers, while other servers are clustered. The issue will arise on a player reporting you, and an investigation being preformed when too many reports are received. The thought process, then, is to attempt on making your character(s) as inconspicuous as possible.

Yes, most things issued as "help" are conjecture, or situations/circumstance based on personal experience, in the end - what you choose to do - is your own.
 
I always thought "mule account" was what people use to sell on gold not to refer to botting account.
 
Look in the end, it is extremely time consuming to do things "covertly" where you've actually succeeded in hiding your identity from blizz. I mean extremely time consuming to setup, maintain, login, update, and actually use.... Extremely. Did I mention extremely time consuming and probably not worth the effort?

Should probably think about growing up one day Jacan.
