one question about Cataclysm wil there be

First the bot will need to be updated.
Secondly not many of us have access to beta realms so we don't know what the best zones for botting are.
Thirdly on the first few weeks there will be a massive flood of players in all new zones so chances of getting reported will be very very high.

Just wait out a couple of weeks...hell even play the new expansion by hand and enjoy the new landscape.
After a while profiles will start to be shared by the dedicated few among us and we'll thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

I only bot because I was tired of going from 1-80 again and again. I wanted to get a good feel on all the characters. The rogue is now my favorite, so I am going to start a goblin rogue. I don't understand why you don't want to explore the new world. Everything changes and 99% of all the quests will be redone. This changes everything, so you don't have to get bored leveling in the same area. Just be patient, learn the game before you start botting. Otherwise it will ruin your expierence and the game.
 
Bot in Storm Peaks for example instead of the new areas.
 
you could level by hand, and start writing down quests for later use ;)
 
I am in the Cataclysm Beta and i'm just going to say a couple of things. Blizzard has a "bulletin" board where people can accept quests to go to different areas in the portal place. Depending on your level 80-85. These quests are very simple usually. Mainly talk to this guy, collect this plant, kill these people and get bombs. Most of it Honorbuddy can handle. However the phasing is very intense and I don't think it will be able to handle it directly. Certian places can't be reached by a regular walking mount for example in Orgrimmar. You have to take some elevator which Honorbuddy isn't adapted to yet. We can probably start making profiles with WoWhead and such but it won't be much use without a working Honorbuddy...

Blizzards BIGGEST Cata Beta Moment: You know how the Warlock's Succubus got a knockback-whiplash? Well it nocked you so high you hit top and you would fall to your death.. unless you had some way to avoid it.
 
Not only did they make use of elevators which are rather easy, in hyjal there are quite a few blocker-quests, that prevent you a) from progressing through the zone if you dont do them and save the grove, and b) require you do dive in lakes and fly over hills to the area where the quest is done, not to forget c) special mechanics like climbing up trees, collecting little bears and throw them down to a druid which takes care of them.

For now i would say neither hyjal nor vashir can be done as quest profile and grinding there also isnt really an option imho.
 
I you want to up many characters to 80 after cata be released , you can up more characters , bu only lvl 58 before released , and after cata released , you up them to lvl 80.
Because Outland and Norfendre doesn't change with Cata :)

Ok check this out guys. I don't know if anybody else has come to this startling realization, but...

Mobs yield EXP until you are 8 level above them...

Only need to get 5 levels to hit 85...

So we use an Icecrown Grind Bot profile...

And bot 24/7 killing mobs until level 85...

And Blizzard won't think it's weird because EVERYONE will be playing for a long time soon as Cata comes out...

Although the XP you will be getting from Ice crown will be substantially lower that the ones you would kill in Cata Regions.

Yes but think about it this way.
-Blizz is not suspicious as everyone is playing a lot to get to 85.
-No REAL people would be in Icecrown grinding, so no reports
-Plenty of mobs to kill, not competing over mobs like everyone else in the new zones.
-And if you're AFKing, who cares how long it will take to get to 85?
 
Tbh i would find it more suspicius that a lvl 82 is grinding in icecrown rather then the new content
 
I'll write a GB / own bot farming profile, and alternate between GB farming (little xp but huge amounts of gold because of the high prices for new mats), and PVP / Instances with HB.

I guess that should work fairly well.

PVP would be great at night or when you're at work/school. But will Honorbuddy be working the first few days after release?
 
well the major changes are already made.. i guess they'll need about 1-2 days for GB and 2-3 days for HB..

And i screw the first 3-4 days ^^.
 
biggest thing is the zone changes, everything will have to be remeshed, and nearly every profile will have to be re done. It will still take a while before it's running smoothly. I'm glad I got my last 2 toons to 80 this weekend :) Thank you shamwow and squire :)
