Greetings i do not get it people,

first of all, we are sorry for the first 2-3 troubling days of the server side navigation we added to Demonbuddy as Diablo 3 patched.

Nowdays every company has its SaaS, Software as a Service .. oh sorry DRM. We are no different, as a company we need to look at the future of the company. This is the most logical step we could take. As with all applications on the internet, as long as it is Software, it can be freed of any costs.

With Android there is a phenomenon, you actually can track the percentage of your freed applications. In 2012, Gamasutra reported that piracy for a game called Shadowgun reached 90% on Android; a year later, developer Butterscotch Shenanigans reported that 95% of the 34,091 Android installs of its first game were “unofficial.” In contrast, 50% of iOS users had pirated Butterscotch Shenanigans’ game, according to SlashGear.

Ustwo Games, the developer behind the wildly popular mobile game “Monument Valley,” revealed in a series of tweets that only 5% of all Android installs of its game were paid for.

We at Bossland GmbH did not know how huge the usage of unofficial software was at our end, but we knew it was there. In order to survive, and its not just our survival, because if there is no us, there is no Demonbuddy and therefore there is no you, we decided to change Demonbuddy to depend on our navigation service. And see there, sales did actually rise.

Welcome to you all "I do not get it" people, you will get used to our way. All the beginnings are hard, i know that. It also is hard to spend 25 EUR for something that you can use for years. I get that too.

We have managed to stay on the market for so long now, we will continue doing so, even if it forces unpopular decisions.

Personally i am very happy with that decision, and you will be it too in some time.

For all the others, give us the time, to make our SaaS as stable as you know Demonbuddy to be.

Have a nice evening and good moaning

No seriously, I think its a great thing that you guys are working on a drm system, I wander around the deepest corners of the web and I knew you guys had a problem, the *****ed version of DB was really widely spread... Good job, this will hold them back for a while.

But please understand this is simple human nature, if person X goes to the market and buys a product, they do not think, they simply expect it to work, right ? The simplest sollution to all this would have been a couple of testers and wait a little longer before releasing it to this customer base. Oh, and just an official statement from anyone saying things are in the works, so people know what they can expect. A simple short message somewhere for everyone to see would have made sure the forums didn't get spammed with this bullshit.

Hey,

i got a nice evening :)
I just thought i want to thank all the dev's for their work.

Maybe just my small points on DB:
- 3rd party tool working that fast after a patch - with the complexity of DB on D3, really nice work
- Integration of 3rd party developers, and their contribution to the tool, really nice
- general i don't think their are any tools to find, which support such a complexity of ways to help play the game.

But... one major issue... And, i'm project lead for bigger IT projects in the real world out their, so i know what i'm talking about...
Communication is an issue - so thanks Boss for the words.
Maybe, and this is really just a maybe, because i know the hard work of dev's and you maybe all like coding and testing much more, than writing a damn post... try to work on that a little.
I think a lot of people (like me) don't need to have the Buddy immediatle working, we understand you need time to get it working.
But "testing" from time to time if anything is working shouldn't be necessary.
1. Maybe create a read only forum, or make the main forum read only and explain just short, that you are working on the issues.
2. Create a communication timeline? I mean, just tell the guys "next update in approx 4 hours, 12 hours, whatever"
3. Try to give some status info's if possible - i mean i didn't knew up to this post, that you changed the DB behaviour to use your navi-servers.

--> this would, from my perspective easy the small pain of just not knowing, if DB is working (and what combination of DB/DBBeta, Trinity and Adventurer is working most stable atm)

Regards,
Tattoo

And just to emphasize it again, thx to all the dev's, you are doing a great job :)

It's understandable though that legit customers complain when you accidentally gimp the functionality of the bot with attempts to stop piracy. It seems to work for me, but a buttload of people are having issues with the nav server auth thingymabob(?).

OK, lets all be rational. I would rather you release a working piece much later than this half-baked cake in a rush. Why? because it creates stress and frustrations for us users, playing D3 for 6 hours is fun but fiddling with a broken bot for that long and still aint working is not. Don't started by saying that $25 is nothing so we don't deserve any prompt service or even sincere explanations, I don't mind paying $50 if your product works and back with prompt/concrete service, but with the current state of DB I wouldn't pay $1, why? because paying any money to get frustrations is just plain ridiculous!

If you consider yourselves a proper company, then at least give a proper official explaination of what had happened. Seriously, after 3 days of customer complaints, you guys came and post this "official notice" and at the end teases frustrated customer with"good moaning" and as if it's their fault in picking this product?

A company would never use emotional terms on official statement and notice. You don't show anger to customer, you simply just state the truth of what happened and what will be happening. This official post just isn't proper enough. Especially with the 3 days delay in any support at all - consumers won't be seeing these type of officials mornings.

Bossland told all of you complainers the truth, accept.
He is Running a Business not a free source code//server hand out. They invest tons of time into production and ensuring we do not get banned.
Mistakes happen but they try their best better than any other service out there.

I dare any one of you people complaining like little girls who don't get there way, to code DB on a launch day for a major patch and make it work flawlessly that very day. All this complaining makes me wonder how many DB users stole their parent's credit card so they could buy DB, because you all are definitely not adults.

On a side note, my DB is working pretty much flawlessly on my barb. (beta)

everyone refused to and became delusional even though most do not know how to even write a basic profile here on DB forums.
Well that is most likely the most self-centered post i saw here, were are terribly sorry for not being able to make our own damn profiles alone i would love to create my own but im not a coder and i dont have "time" so to speak learn it, i only know a bit of java and you know whats its not in java so can you please stop being patronizing if we could we would and thats why way pay for it and hope on stable service which was working flawlessly, the moving to a more secure server is a goos thing the only thing most of the complaints are is that they didnt givr any news as to WHY it happenned until today and thats 3 days later which is not a responsible thing for a " compagny"

I will be the first to admit that I was "one of those guys". I abused a programs TOS to ...... abuse Blizzards TOS. I do agree with this company's move to protect its product just like I will agree with Blizzards move to ban all botters if and when that day comes. I have given deamonbuddy my money to be a legit botter and on the day I get banned I will give Blizzard more money to start it all over again. This is the life of a botter. As far as it goes with the issues on launch, since I have paid for deamonbuddy I have had no problems. My Witch Doctor is running 24/7. My only complaint is that its not optimized for helltooth but we can't win them all. Cheers to the dev team. Hopefully admitting to not paying for DB until now does not get me banned in the forums. I would guess that a large number of complainers are not paid customers. Just a thought.

If you read further, the point I am trying to make is - after 3 days of no official supports, and here comes an emotional explanation from officials towards new and clueless customers who've been questioning. Is this professionalism for a company?

All that's needed is a straight to the point statement explaining the situation and what will be solved - why even address all these "moaning", "I do not get it people" issue? Is that really necessary for clueless consumer seeking answers from official when there were none?

I'm fine with not getting right for the first few days. D3 on launch was barely playable due to server problems and I thought not much of it.

But most products that have DRM or cost money are COMPLETE products. DB isn't, which makes it difficult to justify the inconvenience it brings to paying customers when DB, on its own, is not usable without strong community support in both plugins and profiles.

BTW my DB has been working fine so I'm not complaining about your anti piracy measures per se.

I'm really disappointed in this post. It's basically spitting in the face of your customers. I am not one of those people who "don't get it". I understand that things take time and I understand why you're doing what you're doing. The problem is your legit paying customers are the ones taking the hit right now because you guys released the patch with some game breaking bugs. A massive change like this should have been tested more thoroughly. DRM can be fine but when it affects your paying customers because of bugs, it is not. See Ubisoft.

Also you got it backwards when you said "you > demonbuddy > customers". Without your customers, there would be no Demonbuddy, Honorbuddy, etc and therefore no Bossland. Don't treat your customers like idiots. I know there are plenty of them on this board but show some respect to us that have paid for your product. A lot of us have multiple lifetime keys. I enjoy your products and will continue to use them but let's all just be a little more nicer to each other.

I cant believe so many people are bitching about how they cant ***** good enough right now, and for the guy complaining about buying an incomplete product, DB has been around for years, every patch blizz does breaks it, i have pulled atleast paragon 800 out of every season so far, the first week of a new season is always rough, experienced botters Know this, if you think botting is gonna get you top 10 in world rankings, you are wrong, your skill will do that, botting just finds you gear while you sleep, and gives you paragon levels, even with all the flaws right now, i botted lvl 70 in 8 hours, while i jerked off to pirated porn and watched pirated movies, quit bitching already about how hard you are finding it to *****.

Smashed my Face against my Keyboard after reading this ...

Really frustating to see when legit Customers getting their ass kicked.Because you guys implemented some new stuff , that broken up the Bot.

DB isn't an incomplete product because game patches break it; it's incomplete because 3rd party devs are essential for it to function. Try using DB without the support of community and see how "complete" it is.

So you are basically saying that all your costumers will have to deal with a far worse product just because you couldn't deal with pirates. It doesn't makes sense.
