Official statement as to why the old HB was discontinued?
This partially addresses the developer team, but also the thread is meant as a place where customers can come to issue some feedback regarding the new HB and the fact that the old version is being discontinued as of WoW version 4.2.
The central question I am asking myself is:
Why are you discontinuing to update the offsets on our beloved old HB version?
We have yet to receive an official statement. Considering the speed at which you usually update the offsets, the extra work can't be the only issue here.
So I'm wondering if you are trying to get a wide beta tester base for your not-even-beta HB release with the new and de-/exproved GUI.
HB was a wonderful thing until yesterday. There was a huge amount of user created profiles (<3 Kick), CustomClasses, PlugIns, a community written Relogger and most functions were working as expected.
Today very few of the questing profiles are usable at all, some of the PlugIns need updating (the least of problems), a lot of users are complaining about the lack of a relogger, some CustomClasses make HB crash and first and foremost a central function (skinning) is missing altogether. Additionally a lot of users have argued that the new UI, while looking better, has a structure that is too complex, requiring more clicks for essential buttons and checkboxes to be reached.
I myself am also experiencing a lot more stability issues with HB hogging more memory than would seem necessary, going out of sync at random and WoW spontaneously crashing.
Now, why oh why would you risk the excellent reputation of this bot and throw what seems like an alpha version at the customers, when it requires so little work to just have the old version run parallel to the new one for a while longer?
I assume that there will be no reaction whatsoever from any of the developers and consider myself quite lucky if I don't end up with a ban for addressing you directly. Either way I will be waiting until tomorrow for an official response regarding your decision. Should I not receive one, I will see myself forced to give potential customers some feedback as to what is going on with the HB developement and what customer care really means in Bossland's world which will affect your sales for a while I hate to do this, but since there is absolutely no reaction to user complaints so far and not even a deadline as to when the issues will be addressed. Some users, including me, have even offered donating towards the upkeep of the old HB.
Now I hope you realize I am not the kind of constantly nagging bitching person who wants to be spoonfed with working profiles, classes, reloggers etc. If there are flaws, it comes with the territory of botting and I've always accepted that you have limited power over updating and improving this once excellent program. When my Rift accounts received perma bans, I considered it my risk and didn't have a single word of criticism slip from my fingers into the keyboard.
Your most recent move though just makes no sense whatsoever to me. Maybe it's just that you're too proud to admit you're going the wrong way with the new version? Why are you forcing it on your paying customers when it's so damn obvious that it is still majorly flawed?
