Rebornbuddy Main Scenario Questing Pack (1-50)

What does this profile pack do?

This profile pack is designed to take your character from brand new all the way to level 50 by questing. There are other profiles out there that level via other methods, but this is the official questing profile for Rebornbuddy.

This profile pack does more than just the Main Scenario quests, this profile was designed to be 'completionist', meaning that it does every quest it can on its relentless quest to level 50. This decision was made for numerous reasons, namely that the Main Scenario quests do not provide nearly enough experience to get you to level 50, and simply completing more quests is preferable to grinding for 4 levels. With this in mind, it seemed silly to only go halfway if sidequests were already going to be included, so all possible quests (sidequests and class quests) are included in the profiles.

Important! Currently this profile pack only supports the starting cities, levels 1-15. Work is constantly being done on the 15-50 profile, but as of now it is not completed yet. This thread will be updated as necessary.

How do I use this profile pack?

It is recommended that you start a new character when using this profile pack. Because the pack does many sidequests, it is easy for the bot to get confused if you run it on a character whose progress is unknown.

Once you create a new character, load up the proper starting city's profile and start it while the extremely long intro cutscene is running. The profile and bot will take care of the whole cutscene and everything for you from there on out.

While this profile pack is designed to be AFK, questing is a very complicated thing and lots of unforeseen circumstances can arise. Because of this, it's recommended that you don't leave your character completely AFK. If you have it running on a second monitor or somewhere that you can check on it periodically, that should be sufficient.

How do I get this profile pack?

Due of the nature nature of questing, this profile pack will be updated often. Because of that, this profile will only be available via SVN. If you don't know how to use SVN, here are some instructions:

• Download and install TortoiseSVN
• Create a folder in your Rebornbuddy/Profiles folder called "Questing"
• Right click on this new folder, then click "SVN Checkout"
• For the URL of repository, enter rbprofiles - Revision 146: /trunk/Questing
• Click OK, and TortoiseSVN will download the profiles for you.
• Now, each time before you run RB, right-click on the Questing folder and click "SVN Update" and it will automatically update the profiles for you!

How do I report issues with this profile pack?

While we strive to make this profile pack perfect, the simple fact is that it isn't, but with your help we can get closer to the mark. If you run into a profile issue, please report it in this thread following these guidelines:

• First and foremost, always include a FULL LOG when posting an issue. Without this there is absolutely nothing we can do to fix your issue.
• Be sure to include the name of the quest the bot got stuck on, along with a description of what it was doing and what it should have been doing instead.
• If possible, a screenshot of the QuestDev plugin with the quest the bot got stuck on selected. This allows us to see the hidden variables of the quest and allows us to better diagnose what's going on.

Are there any quests this profile pack can't do?

Yes, not every quest can be done for a variety of different reasons. Here's a list of the quests that the bot will pick up if possible, but not complete. You can complete these by hand once the profile finishes if you so choose.

Quests not included in this list that the bot will also not complete are any quests that require you to be a Disciple of the Land or Hand (including the last 6 quests on the list).

Common Issues

My character is dying a lot!
This could be happening for a variety of reasons. For the most part, the bot gears up pretty well on its own from quests, and the bot auto-equips any new gear if it's better than what was previously equipped. However, some classes are particularly squishy and may struggle with a quest due to this. You have a few options here: You can manually do the part of the quest that the bot is stuck on and then restart the bot, you can wait for the bot to eventually make it through (it will eventually make it through, it just might take some time), or you can find a vendor and buy some new gear that might be enough to get the bot through. This issue could also be caused by a sub-par combat routine. These profiles were tested with Kupo and worked fine, but there could be issues with other Combat Routines, including not healing yourself, dodging AoEs and getting into combat with numerous mobs, or other unforeseen circumstances. If you're using a third-party combat routine and you suspect that to be the problem, try the profile again with Kupo and see if that fixes the issue.

My character is just standing there (maybe at an aetheryte)!
This is a fairly rare occurance, but this is generally because the bot died doing a quest on a different map and had no way of returning to that map via teleport, either because it didn't have an Aetheryte to teleport to on that map or because it doesn't have enough gil to teleport. Try manually running the bot back to the proper map and then restart the profile, while keeping an eye on the bot. See if it dies again or if it all works fine. You might want to help it along if it looks like it is going to die, maybe by popping a potion or something.

My character is grinding a lot, I thought this was a questing pack!
This is working as intended. Especially in the later levels, the bot will need to grind up to half of each level, there simply are not enough quests in the game, even including every sidequest, to reach level 50 without a significant amount of grinding. To combat this, we recommend doing your daily duty roulette every day before starting your bot. The extra experience from the duty roulette bonus in addition to the experience from the dungeon will help to offset how much grinding is required. In addition, you may choose to run Fate Bot instead until the next level when you notice the bot grinding to the next level.

My bot is requesting a path and it is returning "no viable path", or it's running to a destination where there appears to be nothing!
This issue can happen for a variety of reasons, but most commonly it occurs because you've moved your character from the map it was on when the profile was stopped and it now doesn't know where to go. With the way this game transitions between zones, it's currently impossible for the bot to be smart enough to know it has to go from New Gridania to Coerthas Central Highlands, for example. If you are going to stop your bot to do something, whether to repair, go buy gear off of the market board, to sell items from your inventory, please always be sure to return it to the map it was on before you start it up again. If you don't, 99% of the time the bot will not work until it is returned to where it was. Thank you for your cooperation.

Things that must be done manually:

Dungeons/Trials
Rebornbuddy does not have a dungeon bot at this time, and there are numerous dungeons and trials which must be done in the Main Scenario questline. When the bot encounters one of these dungeons or trials, it will do all the quests it can until it can do nothing further, and will then stop until you do the dungeon manually. After you've done the dungeon, please start the bot from wherever it ends up after the dungeon - the profile is designed to start immediately after completing the dungeon.

Chocobo Stuff
This profile will automatically train your chocobo for you as soon as it can, both for mounting and for the chocobo combat companion. However, currently you must manually buy the Chocobo Issuance and name your chocobo. The bot will stop and prompt you to do these things, after which you can restart it and it will take care of the rest. We recommend using a combat routine that supports the chocobo companion, and turning it on ASAP. The chocobo will make soloing harder quests much easier and is simply a good companion to have. In addition, this profile does not automatically assign points to your chocobo's skills - it leaves those decisions up to you. Please periodically check on your chocobo's skills and assign SP as necessary.

Bonus Attributes
This profile does not automatically assign the bonus attributes your character gains as it levels up. You'll accumulate quite a lot of them on your quest to level 50, and we recommend assigning them as soon as possible. They can provide a significant boost in combat and can help your bot die less often.

Though I don't have any need for a new character to level up, I will create one to test this.

I have two quick question though.
I have been away from the FFXIV scene and reborn buddy for a few months now, is the auto-equip integrated into rebornbuddy or just this profile?
With the main scenario's asking you to complete dungeons on regular occasions, is a dungeon bot on the horizon?

Awesome, but i got a problem. I created a new char, but i started the bot right after i reached the entrace of the town ( without accepting any quest or moving my char ). It keeps checking my inventory for Items :

Awesome, but i got a problem. I created a new char, but i started the bot right after i reached the entrace of the town ( without accepting any quest or moving my char ). It keeps checking my inventory for Items :

Really silly mistake on my end. Order Bot is right, that was my mistake in the profile. Update it and it will work.

That sounds like a navigation issue, post it in the navigation issues thread in the support forum.

A huge step for RB!
Though I don't have any need for a new character to level up, I will create one to test this.

I have two quick question though.
I have been away from the FFXIV scene and reborn buddy for a few months now, is the auto-equip integrated into rebornbuddy or just this profile?
With the main scenario's asking you to complete dungeons on regular occasions, is a dungeon bot on the horizon?

AutoEquip is built into RB, but it needs to be activated within the profile.

No news on a dungeon bot.

I'll check the nav issue, and currently there's no mail API so there's not much I can do about that. Also, those items don't satisfy the requirements for the gear-check quest at level 5, so we probably wouldn't check for them until after that, even if we could.

EDIT: Pushed a fix so that the nav should work on all clients now.

Have you tried start/stopping the bot? It looks like it requested a path (making me think the profile is ok maybe?)... but for some reason it isn't actually navigating that path.
