[OFFICIAL][Patch 5.0.4] Honorbuddy will be offline for a week (or more)

Status

I appeal to the team buddy! What is the status of the project to date, and roughly how much longer? Look, over 100 people permanently hang in the topic, and several thousand more run program update every 15 minutes. In order to avoid a social explosion propose to tell the people the truth!

Before you go and accuse them of lying, make sure you know what the hell your talking about. They are working on it, learn to be patient ffs. They said it would be offline for a week, it hasnt been a week yet, and even if it takes a day longer, so be it, this was a huge patch update.

When not in the provision of services, the service provider must inform the customers about the daily progress. At least that is made in Russia.

Hours earlier:

Probably one of the last updates from me...

We're almost done. We're basically working out some random issues here and there as we can find them. Kick has been doing a lot of testing for us on our internal builds, finding (and annoying us) with bugs. There's not much left to do.

The main reason this is taking so long, is that we want to get most (if not all) of our API changes done with the first release, so we're not causing extra grief on plugin/CC/profile writers by having API change too often. We also can't do any release if 90% of the bot isn't running as it's supposed to. We realize that people will use the developer builds to bot their characters, and complain that things are broken. So we want to alleviate the amount of "support" we need to handle for that.

This isn't a small task unfortunately, there are quite a lot of things to do still, but most of which take very little time. Expect a bigger update tomorrow when Nesox and I really sink our teeth in and get things done. (I'm admittedly a bit burnt out right now with staring at WoW for 18hrs+ 7 days straight. A fresh pair of eyes will help a great deal.)

There is no daily progress list necessary, they give updates regarding the program quite frequently.

When they state that it will be down for a specific amount of time, why do you require daily updates? It's not like if Google said some of their services would be down for a pre-determined amount of time, having updates would make the progress any faster, or less tedious. It is not their job to pander to the incessant whining.

They are not a massive studio with an endless supply of employees to address all this nonsense. A small team, working nearly non-stop on something you've paid for, isn't enough?

Some of the people in this thread have a massively displaced sense of self-worth if you really think all your complaints are going to change their progress. If you are not happy with the product you purchased, go read their policy about refunds.

I agree, to an extent, with a lot of which has been said over the past week from the community.
We are paying customers, one time payment or not. This product isn't working as intended. Yes it's being fixed, but with little known about it's progress. Project management revolves around tasks, those takes could be released to the community so we know where the project stands.

Example:
Buy dog(Complete)
Feed dog(Complete)
Train dog to maim(In Progress)
Use dog to maim neighborhood vandals

I, as well as everyone else, have been checking these forums daily to see if there are any updates, only to find post after post of nonsense. Obviously, we're probably a little late into a suggestion like this(maybe?), but for future reference, when posting something like this, an updates section could go at the beginning of the post.

"Hi guys, HB will be going down for, what we estimate, a week. We'll get back to you on our findings, better safe than sorry."[I understand you did this.]
*Update*
"We found that the API has to be completely reworked, while we're at it, we're going to help speed the bot up while reducing CPU usage."[This as well.]
*List of Tasks*
-Rework API
-Search entirety of program for missing/broken/useless code

...and you could just update it from there on the first, or second, post. Soothing the masses, instead of giving others enough time to form conspiracy theories, where they draw wild conclusions that HB Dev's are about to hop ship.

You know from experience that every patch the bot goes down for a period of time, you should have expected this otherwise log in the old bot and bypass his auth and get your ass banned. You know he's going to court to keep this bot going for you/me/everyone else. We gave him a one-time payment you honestly thing that he gets that many new subscribers every month to deal with all the bull that you guys give him? I honestly don't think so because I would have banned and deactivated half of you twits months and years ago you paid for a bot he can terminate the contract at anytime for any reason instead of going to court and possible fines for the program. Chill out and actually play the game me and my wife are enjoying doing some achievements and dailies and etc while it's down. Don't like it ----> There is the door get the hell out!

if you buy some paytv channels, and you pay onetime or monthly however. and the paytv provider informs you in 1 topic that the service will be down for a week because the satellite changed its system. will you accept it? no, you willl tell them, hell, why didn`t you update your system in time?

if you buy a new computer, and the producer tells you, hey you cannot use internet for a week, cos the network card cant handle ipv7. will you accept this? or will you call them and say hey i paid 1000$. why there isn`t an update in time.

if you buy a cellphone, and the provider tells you, hey you cant use it for a week because... whatever. will you accept it? no, you will call the provider and tell: hey, why you didn`t solve this problem earlier.

for honorbuddy... people complain because the downtime too. hell, other bots were able to continue without downtime. why not you? it was imposible during the beta? obvious not. others were able

I am not accusing anyone of lying. I ask to give me an answer on the status of the project, I'm even willing to wait for another, but is in the dark, I do not want.

And, usually the seller answers stick to the first post to the topic of viewing more than 70 pages.

As Ghostcrawler has said in his Hamburger Analogy to his latest bashing of changes..

If you don't like the way the cook makes the hamburger here, go eat a hamburger elsewhere.

Aka, if you don't like to wait for the best product (in our minds), then go use someone elses' program and don't come bitching here when it fails and you get your account banned because you were too impatient to wait for a finished product before running your mouth.

I wouldnt mind it so much just the fact that..Demonbuddy got an update and theres two other bots associated with the owners of this bot bragging to be first working 5.0 bots...so someones doing all that and not doing this....as promised.....you decide

Where did you get that information?

Just dropping in before I head off to bed.

We planned to do the releases in stages (and we will probably do that still). The first "release" will be more or less for developers only, in an effort to let them update their stuff with the new API changes. (We decided this was a good time to give HB some loving, and clean up some internal stuff, upgrade a few libraries, and the like). This will also help us find anything we happened to miss, and any bugs we may have missed.

The bot (as far as I can tell right now) is basically fully updated, however with the upgrading of things, its broken some stuff (nothing too critical, but enough to cause a delay until it works properly). We'll also be putting in the update system from DB/BW into HB, so we can give it even more lovin'.

Our second release will be a generic test (beta) release for the not-so-technically-inclined to run the bot and catch any other lingering bugs. During these builds, we'll try to address the lingering bugs that have been around for a long time. After these builds (maybe 1-3 of them), we'll finally put out the full release with (hopefully) the same things you've come to know in HB.

This expansion is a fairly large change, and HB has been begging for some massive cleanup for quite a long time. You guys will be pleased to notice less CPU usage, faster bot responsiveness, and overall better performance. (Our new memory library going in HB is miles ahead of what it currently uses)

So, that said, have a bit of patience folks. We're working hard to get it out to you guys. (Sunday is our day off!)

They have been giving updates, it just gets burried by the lil cry babies.

Apparently my English is so bad, I just do not understand, I work in the telecommunications company, in the event of prolonged failure every day we inform customers about the status of its removal, and it is for us to rule.

There it is, right there. People are complaining because it's a product they paid for, and expect a degree of service that comes with it...I laugh at all the, "it's a bot put up or get out, hey gj devs keep up the good work ehuehehuh" Don't misunderstand what I'm saying, I agree with the above because it's on the money, you guys aren't fussed because this product essentially let's us cheat so we can enjoy other aspects of the game, but God help this if it weren't against ToS/EULA, this thread would be a s***storm the likes no other community has seen. I, too, enjoy this product, and believe the Dev's have done a smashing job with it, but when it comes to keeping us informed, not too impressed. "Oh well they have a lot going on." Guaranteed there's a list of tasks, and it's divided amongst the Dev's, they're not just randomly taking shots at random strings of code. I was simply stating, placing said list in a front page post, keeping it updated, would help sooth the masses. "Oh, cool. Looks like the Dev's only have the combat behavior hook to work on." instead of the community in a constant state of anxiety, wondering where they're in progress wise...waiting on the product they've come to adore. To those trawling the thread, talking like they aren't anxious either, are full of it.

Many programmers do not get anything at all for their work, such as PQR Bot or people who write great profiles for HB but I do not demand anything from them, because they are working for free, and if you took the money, please observe the rules of the game.

Lets put it this way, what would you rather have the Dev doing?

A: Sitting in here on the Forums giving updates every 5 minutes to all the people who are just spamming posts and bury the updates we do get.

or...

B: Have there Heads buried in HB/WoW Code doing what they do best, Develop the damn product?

I don't know about you, but I choose B!

i dont understand why you want them to split their resources. if they made a checklist before the bot went down, and displayed it, i agree, but they didn't. making it now would be a complete waste of time in terms of getting everything running

OK sorry guys actually do a great job, I take it back.

I dunno about you guys.... but ima give my square eyes a break, watch some how I met your mother and wait for sweet Jesus developers to make magic botting babies tomorrow. I suggest you all do something of the like : )

by the by, breaking bad was EPIC SPAGHETTI

Has nothing to do with splitting resources or spending every 5 minutes on the forums updating the post. What I'm asking isn't rocket science, or far-fetched. I assure you, there is a list of things they are tackling. How else would they know, "We're almost done." as stated by Apoc. It's common sense, and common decency. Common sense being they'd have to have a list to track when they're close to being done. Common decency to post said list and strike it out as parts of the project are completed. You guys act like I'm trying to wage war. I'm making a simple suggestion that would ease a lot of the anxiety bred by the unknown.
