[OFFICIAL][Patch 5.0.4] Honorbuddy will be offline for a week (or more)

Just dropping in before I head off to bed.

We planned to do the releases in stages (and we will probably do that still). The first "release" will be more or less for developers only, in an effort to let them update their stuff with the new API changes. (We decided this was a good time to give HB some loving, and clean up some internal stuff, upgrade a few libraries, and the like). This will also help us find anything we happened to miss, and any bugs we may have missed.

The bot (as far as I can tell right now) is basically fully updated, however with the upgrading of things, its broken some stuff (nothing too critical, but enough to cause a delay until it works properly). We'll also be putting in the update system from DB/BW into HB, so we can give it even more lovin'.

Our second release will be a generic test (beta) release for the not-so-technically-inclined to run the bot and catch any other lingering bugs. During these builds, we'll try to address the lingering bugs that have been around for a long time. After these builds (maybe 1-3 of them), we'll finally put out the full release with (hopefully) the same things you've come to know in HB.

This expansion is a fairly large change, and HB has been begging for some massive cleanup for quite a long time. You guys will be pleased to notice less CPU usage, faster bot responsiveness, and overall better performance. (Our new memory library going in HB is miles ahead of what it currently uses)

So, that said, have a bit of patience folks. We're working hard to get it out to you guys. (Sunday is our day off!)

Sounds ultra-cool Apoc! I'm very much looking forward to the better performance (although the old one did make me learn a *lot* about performance in C# ;))
As for the delay: To be honest; now is probably the best time to take the time to get it all right. I'm surely not missing the Bot much since there isn't a lot to do in the game at the moment.

Keep up the good work! HB is a work of magic and making it even more magical has my full support.

The whole point of the bot is that it is meant to be afk'd, and by the way, this community is fairly decent and mature, so your language and attitude wont fit in here or be accepted.

Yes this bot is made to be afk'd. It's perfectly fine to go afk for 10-12 hours, I usually have 3-4 bots running at night and when I am at school. I play them by hand when I'm at home. This has worked for the last 3 years with no bans whatsoever.

Thanks Apoc, Great Post!

Looking forward to Testing the changes we have already started implementing.

I love posts like this one.
Although, it's sad that you have to browse ~50 pages to find one.
You should open a thread where you update, and no one else is posting.
Of course you'll make a new post for every update. And maybe make it a sticky in the Honorbuddy section of the forum.
That being said, I can wait another week without a problem.

well tomorrows a weekwell later today is) so ill take it a week isnt going to happen. hthanks for hthe updaete anyways

Damn cant wait for the new version thanks for the hard work guys!

im sure everyone appreciates the hard work u guys are doing buy maybe we could get some sort of access and then u guys can do ur overhaul...as it is..your talking another week with devs getting access then testing then maybe well see something. I mean at this point I for one would be happy with just a combat bot or gatherbuddy working...anyhthing...

Please think about how to title the new HB Build, if its a TEST Version or a RELEASE Version.

please make the dev editon public too. maybe with a 72point/red colore warning.
reason: i am not a developer, but i love to write profiles. and i neither need grindbot, gb2, combatbot or anything to get coordinates/id's/fractions and so on

guess u cant add Tuesday to Tuesday is 8 days

That depends on how you count them. If you accept the first day would be wednesday as that is the first 24 hour period after shut down then it is in fact 7 days if you count the initial tuesday (zero hours from take down) then its 8 days however just simply counting the hours the 7 days will be tuesday to tuesday.

Other than that I done really care so long as it comes back in a reasonable amount of time I only pop in once a day at most to have a look see if its released.

we officially "went down" (as i consider it) Wednesday (my time, im from the US) when EU went down for patch 5.0.4, from that point honor-buddy has been offline. however our developers have been working since Tuesday, (after US realms came back up) (again my time), so expect some kind of announcement Tuesday, or Wednesday (at the latest) if not something sooner. (again my time, thats Mountain Standard Time).

you guys just need to sit patient for a little while longer, we're in the home stretch.
