[Official] Exilebuddy - the Way Forward

so i ended up spending 60euros for 2weeks of booting and i can only change them for other games key, great

I hope with more devs that more plug-ins come available.

They said that if you used the bot < 2months total run time, you can refund it. (Even if bought before hte specified date of 1 Mar.

Also they said you will recieve 2 months of each lifetime session

So will we be getting a paid plugin shop like HB?
Or will the be factored into the 12.5/,m?

So, you close it down one day... start it up again a few days later and want us to start paying right away after we jumped ship and bought another key for another bot... and basically give us 24hrs notice for this new regime? Give a guy a bit of a break, can't you like give us a little longer to adjust? like maybe till the end of the month? Just saying at this point I'd be happier if you just took exilebuddy out back and shot it.

Edit: I'll end up paying it but it doesn't seem an effective way to promote goodwill.

As we all know, Exilebuddy has not been able to cover its costs with one developer yet it needs two developers in order to make you, our customers, happy. The reaction to our decision to close the bot has been very clear and we are listening. Today we hired a second developer; its ExVault who you may know for his MapRunner plugin. We do not expect to break even for at least three months but we do want to create a pricing structure that allows Exilebuddy to live on with two developers. Here is what we are offering:

  1. Exilebuddy will cost €12.95 a month.
  2. New keys for this monthly model will be on sale at https://www.exilebuddy.com tomorrow.
  3. Once new keys are on sale, existing keys will cease to work. People who bought Lifetime will be able to go to https://www.buddyauth.com and do an exchange for a lifetime on another of our bots by this time tomorrow. The exception to this is we cannot offer bots that work with Blizzard games to anyone in Germany for legal reasons.
  4. Alternatively, Lifetime keys bought since March 1 2016 can be refunded if you get in contact with us through support@thebuddyforum to request a refund If someone bought a lifetime prior to March 1, they have had 2 months use for less than the new subscription price so we feel this is fair.

Thank you all for your feedback - we look forward to great success with you as a community and our new bot team.
Give the keys time to work, you have almost killed your reputation, we waited for 1.5 months to find out that the keys are dead?(

Sorry but my faith has been lost in the management of this bot. The skeptical part of me sees this as a cash grab and we are going to back where we are now within 3 months (next version of PoE)

As for the overworked coder, love yah man! Hate when this upper level stuff happens but it is the nature of the job.. turn a profit.

I might buy in if I knew who the additional coder was.. you know.. someone promoted from the community. If not.. then I don't feel altruistic about this at all.

Not sure its been officially announced, but word on the street is ExVault got hired on.

So there's that.

Honestly the part of me that is skeptical and shit is reminded of a certain wow bot in my past that couldn't keep itself aloft once the hype of being the it bot died out. HB has had it's problems in the past as well but pushed thru them. And given I've used 2-3 different buddy bots in the past, I really do want to give the benefit of the doubt, so I'll likely give it a shot again, but if the bot sees massive downtimes or shit like this again.... idk :\

As i fear EB future will be only for those who make real money
with the Bot or those whos job is to be son/daughter :)

My offer/limit was about 60€ a year for 1 Keys (3 Session).
But now ist about 466€ a year (3 sessions).
Even if i take only one session for a year (i explained i am
a fun-botter with no financial interests) it's about 156€.

Thats not worth it. Don't understand me wrong, it may be
the way to give you the money to pay the coder and your profit
and maybe the bot will be worth that in future, thats all ok!
But not for me. So i think i will be out here.
For my POE-botting interests i can use the other, cheaper Bot.
It don't have the same quality but can do map's and areas same EB
thats enough for my belongings.

I have a liftime 3 session Key here. I am happy to hear that you offer a change to an other Bot.
But right now you have no other bot of interest (i am a nearly 50 year old fun player and the games in wich you offer
a bot are not interesting for me).
My question: Is there a possibility to change later maybe if you offer a new gamebot?
Maybe "Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem" or something??? So can i "park" my key?

I wish you all a good luck for future and my really best wishes.
Maybe some of the realmoney botter do me a good trade ingame ;)

See you all!

There is no time limit on when you can convert but it is limited to existing products because developing bots is very expensive. We have to pay salaries for months in advance of offering a bot for sale. When we do start selling a new bot, we are usually in dire need of cash.

Ok. So i will "park" the Key ...maybe i am interested in something else later :)
Thanks for fast answer.

Although I haven't botted... anything really in years I'd just like to say thanks for being open to feedback. When I saw how you guys went about shutting down ExileBuddy I honestly lost a lot of respect. This move has gained some/most of that respect back but I'll be a bit more cautious in the future unfortunately.

Edit: Do you have any plans to, at least to some extent, keep the community informed on how well ExileBuddy is doing funding wise? I think the feedback you've received so far shows that at least some of the community would be willing to throw a bit more in to ensure it's continued development.

this is basically where im at.

Buddybots has been my go to brand for every game I've wanted to bot. My first step is to check if theres a buddy bot for it.

I'm scared of the massive downtimes for this project though and with how much POE is updated I'm not sure thats avoidable due to their attention to detail and safety.

Really happy about your decision on continuing to support EB. Takes two for a relationship, EB needs money to do better and people are only able to pay if they feel that it's worth. With that said it's not going to be easy to regain community thrust and envolvement.
Being you, you have access to the info about the % of active EB users, and I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the keys weren't even used regularly. Now those keys are gone and we need to pay again to access the bot. And the main reason for that is that people don't feel happy using the bot, they dont see the bot being good enough for what it can do. Strongboxes are ingame for like 2 years and we never had official support. Shrine support was super late. Masters have been out for more than 1 year and bot still can't interact with them. It doesn't matter how hard you work to code in order to prevent bans if a 16h/day account skips masters like zana on maps.

But what's new?

Why should someone pay again for something that they weren't already using and neither happy with, due to the lack of evolution of the product?

Most likely I will only pay in 2 or 3 months if there are considerable improvements, and probably so are other people. But for those improvements you need people's feedback .

This has nothing to do with coding but with management. You guys fucked up, and you've admited it. The introduction of a second developer should have be done ages ago before you actually start losing money. You should offer at least the first two months to the people who already had lifetime keys, because now, not only you are asking for a second chance, but you are also charging for that.
