[Official] Ban/suspension-wave in progress

It seems like we are getting hit again. We haven't gathered much "intel" yet, so I have a few questions for you all:
  1. Did you get banned?
  2. What kind of ban? 24-hour, 72-hour or perma?
  3. What was the highest level character on the account you got banned on?
  4. Did you use the bot and get banned in one of the other banwaves?
  5. Have you received an email yet?

These questions will help us determine whether this was a software detection or not.

1) I used it and got banned
2) Yes, Perma banned
3) Level 4x
4) Yes; banned in other banwaves
5) Nope; no email :(

I kept the combat bot on while scripting, and then I let the quests turn themselves in

I only had 2 grind areas (1 level each) and I made both of those grind areas before releasing it to the public

no gather profs

3) 19
4) Yes, first
5) Yes, informed me about 24 hr warning/ban.

Intel: only ran Guards quest pro while configuring my rogue routine. no grinding on my end.

Did you get banned in one of the other banwaves? What level was your highest level character on the account?
 
Says my account was suspended or banned- didn't receive an e-mail. Does this mean it's probably a perma-ban?

I had a T2 rogue in the first ban-wave this is my 2nd "ban" all-be-it. Highest level on temp ban is 19.

Ok thanks. This tips the scale towards it not being a software detection, but a detection based on IP/MAC address. Interested in hearing what other people have to say though.
 
I got banned too, i think its perm ban. How did u guys know? i didnt get any email. ><

1. Used it and got banned. (My only account)
2. I think so. No email for info on this.
3. 40. Did quest profile from start to finish. Some pvp through arena but mostly questing profile lvling.
 
I added a few new questions, if you guys could go back and answer those too that would be great.

Thanks for the response. In return, so it's easier for you guys to keep track of everything...

1. Yes
2. No idea, login message says account was "Suspended or banned".
3. 40. Leveling.
4. Yes, I used the bot before the other banwave happened for about a week. I didn't get any ban at all from it.
5. No email.
 
I have 2 accounts, one was banned. Same internet-IP but different PC's.

1. Yes
2. 72h
3. 45
4. no, this is my first 72h ban.
5. Yes

The other account, which wasn't banned, I stopped botting yesterday at 2011-08-15 13.00

5.nope no email yet.. I emailed them and they replied with they are looking into it..
 
Haven't used the bot in two days and didn't get banned, don't know if that will help with 'intel' but its as much as I can contribute. I'll refrain from using the bot until this is resolved.

What was the highest level character on the account you got banned on? both where botted to 50... one account i havent touched with ryftomate since ... 3 Weeks
Did you use the bot and get banned in one of the other banwaves? yes i lost already 2 accounts in the other ban wave
Have you received an email yet? no
 
Sounds like the way Blizzard Bans..Collect data for a few weeks on botters, picks a random day and bans them all.

Few other questions you might add:

US or EU
What type of IP
Same or Different PC's

On a side note. I bought the bot yesterday and ran it for 6 hours and I have not been banned. I am not running it until Boss or an admin addresses this. Perhaps they changed their "warden" in one of their patches, which avoided Tripwire?

Less than pleased, to say the least...Vacation time for me. I'm done throwing away money. I have a dynamic IP, and have four rigs at my house, I doubt they are using mac addy's. I can mac spoof if the devs can give me some sort of assurance (again) they have a handle on what the hell is going on. You ever feel like you are getting the shit kicked out of you and merely being toyed with?
