> Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy
>
> This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for ""real-world"" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.
>
> Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.
>
> We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Game - World of Warcraft
>
> The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment: World of Warcraft Terms of Use. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure.

You used Shamwow with GB?!?

I think he meant to put HB.

I'm going to take a stab at guessing he was farming volatile airs (and subsequently selling them I'm sure). That Uldum volatile air profile is amazing, and I think Blizzard has noticed the bot activity increasing in this area. They're probably handing out bans when they see people in that area for long periods of time and/or selling large quantities of the airs.

Everyone I've heard of that got suspended, or banned, was at one point in the last few weeks, farming those airs.

10-12 Hours per day only produced 6 Auctions? Blizzard doesn't usually ban "exploiting the economy" for a measly 6 auctions a day. I know Tony's profiles don't produce that low number either.

Tony doesn't have an uldum volatile air profile (at least what I could find) and if you were to use that it would be liquidfire's

He got banned for actually selling it, not because of the AH. Also am I the only one smelling something fishy here? He claims he didn't sell the gold, yet that's what he got banned for, they only ban for that when there is hard proof that he was trading to someone else, he says he used tony's uldum profile using shamwow and only has 6 things on AH a day? something isn't right here.

I think the problem is when someone fills out this form, it's probably what they were just doing when they got banned, or right prior to it. Blizzard will easily flag accounts days, weeks or even months in advance before handing out suspensions/bans. Usually that's associated with a ban wave (which this isn't), but nothing is stopping them from flagging people farming those airs at some point, and later handing down the suspension. I suspect player reports + research into farming activity and AH activity over the holidays led to many accounts getting banned. I'm sure Blizzard knows how tempting that Uldum profile is.

They tried to ban me for the same reason before (long before I sold gold) and emailed them. The first generic response they gave me was the "We have definitive proof". I then asked to up the email traffic through their supervisor. I was un-banned within the next week.

Were you trading gold to say friends or other characters though? That could of been mistaken for gold selling as they can't look through camera's and see that your talking to someone about selling :P. If not then idk, I got banned once for this and it was soon after I did actually sell.
