no matter where i put it, it either stashes it or deletes it. is there a way to fix this?
not keeping legendary potion in inventory.

Did you try using Protected Bag Slots?
In the DB Main Window click on Settings>Bot
In the Vendoring section at the top of the Settings Window you can click "Edit Protected Bag Slots," and then put your potion in the corresponding bag slot.
See if that helps.
