I'm running a corruption spec sorc, without ever having the problem before, it is now ignoring the companion. It doesn't notice their health before/after combat and during combat It is not healing them, they die, and subsequently I die. It only started this today. After the update Default cc refuses to compile, but WingIt was working. Is there an error in the cs I should look for? It worked fine earlier.
It also has started with a lot of grey magic errors again, even after fresh reinstall/reload

Hiya, Phay,

GreyMagic errors are truly a bane, and I know of no other work-around than to restart SW:TOR and Buddywing. My guess is the GreyMagic errors keep your companion from being healed.

The only time WingIt won't heal a companion is when it can't programmatically "see" the companion. The only time I've seen this happen is immediately after a dismount, Buddywing says the companion is 'not present' until a fight starts. After the fight starts, Buddywing will usually then tell us we have a companion. For this reason, you will see tanky-type toons apply a shield to the companion right as combat starts, or during combat--because BW was telling WingIt the companion wasn't present until then.

So, in short, we've got to get the GreyMagic errors in your log cleaned up before we can progress toward any kind of sane diagnostic.

I figured as much. So I restarted everything. In the first log, I started up BW and it initiated combat after being mounted. The bot never looked twice at Khem Val dieing, never shielding him or healing. No grey magic errors

The second trial I did, I didn't let the bot mount. But it crashed instantly after starting.
My BH seems to have no issue detecting the companion, but the sorc and consular are.

Hi, Phay,

Sorry about the problems. I've tried to replicate it, but am having a hard time. I think two things are going on:
  • Some of the time, WingIt can't see your companion
Shielding the companion is some very reliable code, and this is one of the major reasons I think that Buddywing is not reporting the companion's presence to the combat routine.
  • There may be some serious tuning that needs to occur in the Corruption_Seer.cs routine wrt/when to heal and for how much.
My Sorcerer is specced for Madness, and I really don't know how to play Corruption, and will need your guidance if we discover that indeed tuning is needed.

Could you help me chase this? If so, I need you to:
  • Upgrade to the latest version of WingIt (SVN changeset 712).
I've added some more debugging facilities to help better see things
  • After upgrading, replace WingIt/Routines/TargetSelect.cs with this one: View attachment TargetSelect.cs
This contains a line that will let me see if BW is not reporting your pet as 'present' (for healing purposes).
Thanks for any time you can spare. Please toss your log when you see it happen again after making these changes.

cheers,
chinajade

This kinda sorta worked. When Khem was about 30% health, the bot shielded and healed him. However it would not shield him before or after the initial shield. The bot would not move, for whatever reason. It stayed still until I pushed it into a mob. Also it only worked on the first mob, after that it would not initiate any combat, until i had to stop the bot and kill the mob myself. I also found the log a bit weird. Lots of errors, but what was off was that several times it mentioned casting a spell, but the bot never did. It did not attack the mob, only healed khem once or twice.

Thanks for trying to help me work through this

Phay,

I haven't forgotten about you--just lost some time due to travel and other responsibilities this week. I'm trying to overhaul something in WingIt that may help. Need to get that completed and see where it stands by you when done. I still think we've tuning to do for the Corruption spec wrt/how much heal should be applied when.

cheers,

Thanks mate. I posted my newest findings into the WingIt forum directly, just in case that was easier. I fixed my movement problems, the bot now heals my companion, but won't shield him. And we all know that shielding is pretty big for us sorcs :P
I've monkied with the corruption_seer spec a big to try and fix it, but ultamently it was beyond whatever I could do. As of right now the healing is still a bit sporadic. Seems like it heals on some fights, and doesn't on others.
Once 50 I prob wont touch the sorc again for awhile, but I'm willing to help still in anyway to improve the bot and WingIt

mate watching my sorc grinding, i can see it heals when the companion gets to like 1/8th health, which is a small problem whislt lvling, but when your 50 its not.

Yeah sure. I'm 47 currently, and watching the bot try to.. heal.. not heal whatever on Corellia is just painful. I'll just do it by hand and be done with it. I just meant that I willing to help test whatever need be in the future.
Sorry if I was confusing.
