Not banned yet: Precautions you can take.

I understand the need to notify people where they can find official info on the banwave, but this thread is discussion around the topic, we're not demanding answers from bossland in here. So you guys can stop posting the link a bunch of times.

I was lucky to avoid this banwave (knock on wood), but one thing I'm interested in is what impact the use of WoW Tokens has on an account you're botting. It seems feasible that heavy use of WoW Tokens could be a profiler and land accounts on the "short list" of accounts to monitor for bot activity.
 
I didn't play any BG's, only did garrison bot and combat bot while manually playing.
I also got banned for 6 months...
 
Sadly in the end the ban wave caught up with me before i could outrun it with my main raiding character and raiding alt. They appear to still be pending on the character transfer screen of my account but I don't have much hope that this will be completed now that the account is banned and i forgot to update the home address of my card on the account too. The silver lining is that i just checked my guild bank on another account and that again, has been untouched. I guess i'll be buying a mythic HFC clear to get back into the game again quickly.

I hope others have better luck and I have seen a couple that did manage to move their main in time so well done! :)

This is so far from the truth. You really shouldn't even post if you're this delusional.

When the last banwave went out, it took Blizz over 2 days to ban all the accounts.

If you think they're even close to done, you're in for a rough surprise.

I haven't been banned yet but only realized what was going on when the tripwire popped up like it did for most people, here are a few precautions I've taken to limit the damage if i do get banned. If you're like me and haven't received a ban yet, it might be worth doing the same thing or similar.


1. Put all items and gold into your guild bank on all characters, during the last ban, anything in the guild banks stayed but all items and gold on the characters were wiped. Hopefully i've just saved myself 1.5million gold this time.

2. Put all personal items in personal bank, for anything you can't save in your guild bank, put it in your personal bank or you'll lose that too.

3. Transfer your main. I've just moved my main and an alt to 2 separate accounts that have been inactive for a year and not been used for botting before. I'm still waiting for the process of the transfer to complete but this could save my mythic characters and yours too.

4. Cross your fingers and hope for the best, we all deserved this and we should of all expected it at some point like always, maybe not so soon after recently recovering from the last ban wave but maybe it's a lesson to others like me that rely on the CR routines this bot provides for main character/account raiding just because it's easier.

Just to update everyone, i said earlier in this thread that the ban did catch up with me before the transfers were completed and they were stuck on pending... Further to this, 1 hour later i have both characters transferred and have therefore managed to escape the ban wave with 2/6 lvl 100s safe, my 2 mains and 1.5million gold still in the guild bank!

I hope this thread helped some others out in someway. I'm so freaking happy right now, feels like i beat blizzard for once. Relieved. :)
 
Last and final update... I just had a whisper from the GM while i was playing on my transferred character telling me that the character was moved from a locked account and that a refund will be issued and the character moved back to the banned account. I assume this is because so many people did the same as I and it then showed up on their radar, my account wasn't banned at the time of the purchase but I guess I've been swept up with those that have managed to transfer their banned characters.

The GM wouldn't give me much chance to speak before kicking me out of the game so I will argue against this tomorrow in Live chat.
