Niantic has released information about BAN appeals on their page... #KillConfirmed

I can confirm accounts are being banned. I have 6 accounts ranging from level 24-level 38. Early this morning the level 24 account was disabled. I could log in to any other account, but any attempt to log in to the banned one was met with the error. About 4 hours later another one of the accounts was banned. Most recently a third one has been banned as well, so I can confirm that the bans are still on going and on their way.

Here's the interesting part: the level 24 account that got banned had not been botted or spoofed on in over 2 weeks. This means that they likely are banning based on accounts being flagged. This isn't really welcome news I know, but this means that just because you're not banned yet doesn't mean it isn't still coming.

This is the status of my account for the last 17hrs, tried different IP too. Also, this ban was not using Pokefarmer, and yes I was teleporting insane distances. Other more conservative accounts still up, but bans are real.

This is the response to the ban appeal:

We have received your appeal. Our goal is to provide a fair, fun and legitimate game experience for everyone. Use of any other third-party software or app, including but not limited to scripts/apps, applications used to falsify your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokémon GO clients or backends in an unauthorized manner is considered cheating.
