Hello all,
I'm hoping to tap into the collective wisdom of some of you wonderful people regarding the setup and strategy of a little botting operation of my own. I have never used bots for any game, but lately I am hitting a point in diablo where acquiring upgrades is becoming very hard to do (currently 500 mil and I can't afford any upgrades). I have purchased some gold from third party sites in the past and mostly rely on flipping higher ticket auctions for income, but it is a relatively high risk activity and I have lost gold in some cases, though I am up about a billion gold overall.
I understand that botting has it's risks as well, but I am interested in getting 3 accounts up to farming status. I would appreciate some advice/tips in the following categories:
1) Bot account life longevity
-Should I bot every day or should I let them sit for some days?
-Should I run them at different times, both individually and as a whole?
-Is there any merit in changing routes?
-Is it simply better to run them as much as possible until they get banned?
2) Profitability and transfer of profits
-Not being interested at making money with this, how should I set things up in order to make a decent amount of gold per hour?
-Is it best to pick up all items and vendor, or simply pick up legendaries and certain rares for auctioning later?
-How do I get the funds earned onto my main account without flagging it as connected with the botting accounts?
3) Character gearing and efficiency (using barbarians)
-Should I go for some cheap skorns and use a rend build or would less deaths from having a shield be useful to any degree?
-Is dual wield viable or efficient?
-Is magic find/gold find worth getting?
-MF/GF gem for helm or ruby/amethyst for their bonuses?
Lastly, should I start off botting with one account to get the hang of it or just go all in with the 3 and cross my fingers that it all works out? That's about all I can think of as being pertinent at this point. Any other advice you care to give would be more than welcome though.
Cheers
