I posted this on MMOwned before i subbed to GB. I figure I'll post it here, because not everyone on MMOwned bots. :p

My friend recently quit playing WoW and gave his account to me. So, having about five time cards lying around, I figured I'd use his account for GatherBuddy.
I have a couple of questions before i get started tho.

First off... Does Blizzard IP ban? DO they ban MAC addresses as well?
My main account isn't connected to my friends account in any way.(Other than IP) But my main account is connected to a couple of other peoples account via same credit card/IP.

Do i have to worry about using a proxy every time i bot, or can i just bot on the same IP I play my main on.

How would i go about transferring money/mats in between my bot account an my main account without getting caught.
I have a 3rd account which is clean. I made a gbank with the clean account as glead, and my bot as an officer with bank access. Since im prospecting all of my ore, I have the bot deposit and my bank withdraws and sends it to my main. Are these precautions even necessary? I dont plan on selling gold anywhere in the near future.

I pretty much plan to farm ridiculous amounts of titanium and saronite, send it to my main, prospect/transmute/cut, and put the the gems up on the AH little by little every day... maybe about 1-2k gold worth. Everything else will go to private buyers.

And if my botter gets banned, my main will still stand. Is this an attainable dream?

I was also wondering if i could run the bot on one WoW, and on the other play my main w/o any worries of being banned on it.

Thanks in advance people, I've been searching for days, and i can't find straight answers.

1: No they don?t ban MAC adresses neither IP bans.
2: Your main account should be at risk.
3: Just bot along, just don?t bot and play your main at the same time.
Can?t answer the rest sorry :D

It's more speculation than anything. I've had 1 vanilla acct 72h banned in the 5 or 6 months i've been botting... i have 4 gbanks, only 1 gbank was linked to my gold selling acct, but that same gbank gleader is on the same acct as the other 3 gbanks (with the huge amounts of gold that i have)... i bot and play wow on the same computer. i do gold trade on a second computer thats only bc some of my clients take a while to log on... so i just start it up and leave it afk in SW while they log on, that computer is also my messenger and music / video computer :)

i hope this helps

1. Blizzard do not ban by IP address.
2. Your main account should be safe.
3. You do not need a proxy server.
4. The safest way to transfer large quantities of goods between characters is via a guild bank.
5. Running the bot on a different computer while playing your main on another computer is fine.

Keep in mind all of these answers are based on personal experience and general understanding. As blizzard state in their terms and conditions they reserve the right to ban any account for any or no reason. They also state they will ban accounts associated by contact and payment (credit card) details, but through personal experience I have not found this to be true. My main account and my botting accounts all have the same contact information and are paid by the same credit card.

Please explain the Guild bank transfers. Do you have a character on the botting account in a guild on your main account and have that toon deposit the gold/materials into the guild bank? I have asked this question in another thread and didn't receive an answer. I have 3 accounts, two of them on the same BN account and the third on a different BN account. The separate account is used for collecting mats which I need to send to my main account. What's the safest way to do this ? I don't sell mats or gold it's all for levelling toons and skilling up professions.
