You can always change the name yourself the code in the exe file tells it were to look thats just the name of the executable file.

Blizzard were forced by the courts a long time ago to not do that, even if it's in the EULA and ToS.

Stop kicking a dead horse.
 
Not kicking anything.. this is the first I have ever heard of it. Is it true I can change the name myself? And will that prevent them from finding the bot by searching my ram?
 
Isn't it against the (US) law if a private company can monitor one's computer and everything that's going on, on it? (No matter what they are even looking for). If the courts/government told them they can't do it, why is it in their EULA or ToS?
 
Plz explain how you would change the file name so they can't find it ?

And is there a ETA on the new Update for honorbuddy ?

it doesnt really matter and no there isnt. patience is a virtue. the more people ask for eta's the more the devs have to stop what there doing and answer these reposts.
 
There is US law but if you agree to a TOS then that can over ride it. Its like saying its illegal to punch someone in the face but if you give me written permission you cant press charges.

Because they still have the right to monitor WoW's own memory space, but are banned from scanning outside of WoW.

Changing HB.exe wouldn't help much, if they were still able to scan everywhere.

They could scan everything on your hdd, looking for suspicious files and patterns, much like an AV looks for a virus. They could scan your browser's history and open tabs and bookmarks and quickly find if you have ever visited or searched for any sites known to spread "unapproved" tools for Blizzard games.

You would be totally lost.

They only scan their game's own memory space, though, because of that court ruling.
 
A lot can change. Asking questions that already have an answer is how we learn and improve. I only want to know about the .exe renaming. I was able to rename it and it shows up as my new name in the task manager but I wonder if that will really work?

I totally fucking Agree don't get all Paranoid now Derp derp not like we are going to stop using HB do to some ass bring this crap up again after all these years have gone bye.
 
Again i will say first off khaine313 this will be updated when they get to it why ask they are usually quick about it, second this was no ninja patch it was for bug fixes and changes in EULA read your patch nates they give you.
 
Wow.. people really get upset when the bot goes down..lol Some of us havn't been using HB for years and this is all new to us. If you dont like us asking questions you can ignore them. Let the people who want to help say something. Dont just type because you like seeing your response. We may not stop using HB but if we can make changes to make it more safe why would you ignore that. Sounds ignorant to me. Anyway, still waiting for a solid answer regarding the name change to the .exe. Thanks!
 
you can change the name to anything you want...it's basically just an application icon that runs all the other programs in the folders that it's supposed to run...hb will still work as always. and other people just quickly forget that they were as retarded to others as you seem to them. if they were as cool as they think they are they wouldn't be buddy's paying to use a program, they would be mod's of their own.
 
all bullshit aside, WoW is a voluntary game. when you click the box, you agree blizz has the right to terminate service at any time for any reason. you can claim its illegal, you can cry, you can post on forums, but in the end. blizz doesnt even have to give you a reason to end your account.

Replacing the challenge of playing with the challenge of coding, to achieve what ? Totally counter-productive.

I am sorry if I hit a nerve there with the "dead horse" comment. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I didn't realize that probably everyone has had enough of comments in this tone and people are too sensitive, with a valid reason, too.

Actually, I am glad I saw people bringing these parts of the EULA and ToS up again, because this means this community is not asleep.

problem with your bullshit is that blizz is a business, and will not just end your account, they're in the market to make money hence the TOS to begin with...that's why they try to find us so that they still get paid their 15 a month instead of us buying it with gold...just cause it says they can doesn't mean that they are going to. they will never end an account for no reason unless it's the day that they end ALL accounts because they are losing money by keeping it up...don't try to act smart cause you read some words on their warnings of playing... economics to them will always come first.
