New Hunter CC - Need your input

Not open for further replies.
if possible for pvp: when someone attacks you lay down a freezing trap -> step back -> attack, when they get to you for the second time: frost trap -> disengage -> attack

Another idea:

When mob health = x% -> stop attack and allready run towards the mob for looting/skinning. Pet will finish the job.

In your pet support remember the "Do char have minor mend pet glyph, if true mend pet else feed pet"

Current there is no way to check for a Glyph (that I have working) it will probably be an option in the CC.

Use cheetah between mobs (but is not possible, as stated before)
Let pet attack next mob while looting/skinning previous mob (is this possible? maybe a lil difficult)

This CC will rock :D

I was messing around with this [AoC between mobs] over the weekend and nothing seemed to work as it should have. I'm a bit disapointed with that. Pet attacking while looting/skinning is another life-like action.

My CCs have a completely different combat sequence for PVP and PVE.

When you're in a BG it uses completely different combat code.

i'll quote myself from another thread.
when a mob attacks my hunter when my pet is on another mob it will ignore it until it returns to my side and the other mob is dead.
Would be cool if it attacked anything that hit you, but dont know if that is possible
When farming and your hunter strafes back into another mob and you get beat on for a bit, can be annoying.
If possible maybe get the pet to taunt/charge/attack it.
Hunter will finish the other mob off in the meantime.

Oh and full pet support you say.
Does this include the spells in the talent trees for pets too?
Example "Last Stand","Taunt" ect?

*Raise Hand*

Level 70, BM spec

I have a lot of issues running AV with my current CC.The mesh is also not ideal, but he tends to run into groups of enemies and suicide alot which I think is because of the way the CC is written.

Currently leveling a BM hunter, its 26 atm, i'll give it a test if ya need fpsware.
Planning on running to 80 so will certainly get good use.

lvl30+ hunter, if you need some thorough lowbie testing. PM me if that's the case.

Ok so this is what we have so far:
  • Primary attack ranged weapon
  • Melee spells used, but will always try to stay at range
  • 100% pet support (feeding/happiness/healing etc)
  • PVP
  • Traps (of course)
  • Potions / Lifeblood
  • AoC / AoP via the use of a plug-in
  • Feign Death and Shadowmeld are both supported but its a little buggy.
  • ALL 3 TALENT TREES SUPPORTED
What I still need to do in the next day or two:
  • Have the pet pickup adds where required
  • Support racials
  • Volly - AoE
  • More use of traps
It has some neat features that make it look rather human; Premptive move to loot. When the mob is about to die the hunter will run in to loot - instead of standing there waiting for it to die before it moves in.

If you're Survival Spec it will automatically change the tracking to the type of mob you are fighting. It is assumed you have 5 points in Improved Tracking (5% extra damage).

The usual top end abilities are supported for the relevant tress
  • Intimidation
  • Bestial Wrath
  • Trueshot Aura
  • Silencing Shot
  • Chimera Shot
  • Scatter Shot
  • Black Arrow
  • Explosive Shot
Most 'on proc' abilities are supported eg: Lock and Load etc.

It will automatically apply the most appropriate Sting to the target based on a number of factors. There is no point applying a sting if the target won't stay alive long enough to make use of it. If you want you can over ride the default option and say UseSting = true or false. Viper Sting is only applied if the mob has mana of cause.

There is a cool feature called Aggressive Pet mode - suggested for Beast spec hunters only. useAggressivePet = true will put your pet into (you guessed it) aggressive mode. Let your pet go off and pickup all the mobs. Using aggressive mode increases XP/Hr as you're pulling a lot more mobs. This feature is not recommended for use where mobs are higher level than you. When you are drinking / eating it will put the pet into Defensive mode.

Pet happiness is kept in the green - 125% damage output. For now, the pet will use the food you are eating, so make sure your pet will eat that type of food. A future release will search your bags and automatically feed your pet anything it finds.

Aspect of the Viper is extensively used. The default setting is to drink at 20% mana, AoV will kick in at %45. If you don't have AoV it will drink at 55%.

If you have anything to add let me know now, as this will be released in the next few days.

On further inspection of that, I will probably be able to use the spells in the CC. But HB does not enumerate the Pet spells/abilities. So it won't be able to automatically detect if your pet has a given spells. You will need to manually set the option in the CC. Eg... usePetLastStand = true.

My pet has Thunderstomp on automatic use and its working well. I don't see the need to that to the CC.
