hey guys look at this? I remember reading posts saying people would only set up one account with rmah cause of the authenticator, or they'd buy a prepaid phone and use that, but that would cost 20 dollars a month to keep operational. Anyone know if this would work for us? This is the first time i've heard of this, did it just come out?

Yes it works the same way as a phone.

That authenticator predates phone authenticators. The reason people would buy disposable phones is for the phone text message verification required to use the RMAH.

I must be imagining all the auctions I post on my non authenticator account.

It's just a normal authenticator with a d3 style sticker on it. I have one for months, it isn't new.

Oh yeah, if you transfer money to your battle net account you have to use it or something. With paypal, no need for the authenticator.

You must have logged in using it and chosen the option to 'remember me'. Often when posting auctions on the RMAH i get asked for my auth code (maybe one day a fornight).

I have no Authenticator setup for the RMAH at all, never needed one for going straight to PayPayl, just my cell.

some of my bots need them, some don't. some on the weekends would require a code every 2 auctions. some have NEVER been asked.

i really am starting to wonder the actual amount of shit on d3 they are able implement & work

For me it says for PayPal you must have SMS-notifications enabled, an authenticator is not obligatory.

Yeah, paypal you don't need an authenticator, just the sms, which I had to do once when I listed my first item.

Is there any way around the smc thing if you want to use Paypal for your RMAH? My phone number is already in use on my main account.

i did a little research last night into it and I couldn't find anything...it won't allow any VoIP phones...even if the # was ever attached and transferred off. I'm sure theres gotta be some paygo phones that work but I didn't look into it that far, just used my wifes phone instead

Thanks for the response. I'm also researching on this matter. If I find anything I'll be sure to post.
