New Botting Rig :D

Got the last pieces for my new rig today! She's up and running all 8 bots giving the laptop a much needed break. Parts include i7-3770k @ 3.5Ghz, CORSAIR Vengeance Ram 32GB @ 1600, EVGA GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB, and an ASUS P8Z77-V LK board. PSU and hd are just old bits I had laying around. Got a Samsung 840 120GB SSD on order.

GPU is running at 55c with all cores on the i7 going from 55c-65c. CPU usage drops under 40% on occasion, spikes at 80% and usually floats around 65-70. I did no tweaking on the board and the ram is actually running well under 1600. I'll probably look into getting a nice cooling system for future overclocking if I want to push 6 or 7 more bots on her.

All paid for by bots :D

I7-3770k: 329.99

It was $900 after taxes and shipping and I've got $45 in rebates to cash in. I paid a bit more but I got quality parts with lower power consumption and high performance. Had a few lucky drop that week :D

Edit: Thats $CAD, not that our dollar is any different than the USD :D
 
Congrats dude, looks nice. However, i7 is a total overkill for botting, in my humble opinion.

I7 is a good investment for future games (if his intent is to bot future games as well)
 
H100 is an amazing investment if you don't know how to do your own custom cooling. The newest H100 is way better than the last. Bigger tubing for more flow :)

yeh i noticed theres a new version out h100i, and cheaper on newegg than the old
 
Been waiting for this. Haha. Sucks that Newegg charges us Canadians tax/shipping.
I gotta ask, was the insane CPU and RAM worth it? Does 16GB really bottleneck for 10 bots? And wouldn't have an i5 been just as good?
I actually use an H60, and it works perfectly fine. Don't know if the H100 is worth the investment either.

Sweet processor, I recommend the corsair h100 for cooling, I got one and its amazing but can be a bit loud. Also you might want a roomy full tower to for the h100, I managed to jam it into a mid tower but after awhile had to buy a full tower.

Yeah a nice liquid cooler is the next thing I'm looking at. I paid a bit of extra for that K in 3770k and I can see overclocking being very profitable in the near future. My ram usage is a joke right now, the cpu will be the first thing that'll need a good push with more bots loaded on.

Well you can see 8 bots pushing my ram use to 40%. I figured 16 would cap me so I just went all out and got the whole 32. With no overclock I can see this doing probably 3 more bots for a total of 11 which'll probably put her cpu spike at 100%. I'll know soon enough haha, then it'll be oc time.

Tried the H60 and it kept my processor cool, but not as cool as I wanted it to be. H60 is a better investment if you're limited on space in your box or you don't have the proper mount on the top. H60 fits in almost any box easily.

and lol at the people saying the i7 is overkill or if its really needed over an i5.. it doesnt matter if its overkill or not needed.. if you can afford it then buy it.. people dont need a corvette that goes 200mph but hey they can afford it so why not?

Cause I'm not 40 years old and having a midlife crisis. That's why =P. lmao -- J/K at OP. I can see the i7 being a worthwile investment for future upgrades.

I was eyeballing the i5 because it was $100 less, but ultimately that $100 will probably allow me to push another few bots onto the i7 which should cover the cost as well as give me a nice rig for many years to come.

i can load 5 bots and my cpu load on 90%+, ram on 95% and gpu temp like 80 *C...
what's going wrong?
Cfg: i7 2600k, cpu cool noctua d14, ram 8gb 1600, gtx 580, hdd wd caviar black...
+ using d3perfs with low quality setings
 
Now i have I5 2500k@4,7Ghz. Only 10 Bots, CPU = 100%.
Any ideas about how much bots i can used at I7 2600k/I7 3770k/I7 990x ( i think it's better - 6 true cores and 12 threads)?
 
at least the postings have stopped where people claim to run 15 D3-Bots on a Pentium IV :D
Intel > AMD (tried both)


btw: when are Servers back at US and EU? O.o
 
nice thread im doing the same thing as you bro giving the lappy a rest and building a pc pure botting rig with money made from botting, could i grab the website you used or do you no of any good websites for parts? cheers
