I have a lvl 85 Rogue
combat spec

i haven't played since Wrath of the lich king.

back then if you had a fast weapon 1.8 speed in main hand and a slower weapon 2.6 speed in your off hand...
that was the way to get good dps.

now im looking and i get more dps just useing 2x 2.6speed slow weapons?
fist weapon and a mace.

is there a point in useing daggers anymore?

i don't really understand...

OFFHAND ONLY: 1.8s daggers, and 2.6s axe/fist/sword/mace are exceptionally close in performance. However, 2.6s weapons appear to have a fraction of a % of an advantage. Try to keep a 1.8s dagger around for when you can't use Killing Spree optimally. Because of their racial passive, orc rogues should always use a 2.6s offhand if it's a fist weapon or axe and they also use a fist weapon or axe as their mainhand.

Yea lvl 85 Questing Rogue as combat
Human
at MOP vender
4 choices
2 daggers
1mace
1fist wep

I think im going to try the
Axe/Dagger combdo
2.6 Speed main hand, 1.8 speed off hand.

i noticed that the axe will make my melee damage high, so that when i use sinister strike for 145% weapon damage.
that will be my advantage.

then because i have haste/crit
my off hand wep will be hitting pretty fast and getting tons of crits.

so i think the Axe/Dagger combo is going to give me like a 5% damage boost vs just 2x daggers.

In the past it has always been SLOW MH (2.6), FAST OH (1.8). This was due to SS hitting harder with a slower wep with more damage, and when you used to put instant poison on the OH, it would yield more procs due to the faster speed. However, now it is pretty much equally viable to use either SLOW/SLOW or SLOW/FAST depending on the fight (killing spree usage). The reason SLOW is now fine to go on the OH is because of the change to deadly poison, which groups IP with it.

Oh so it doesn't really matter what weapons you use these days as long as the stats / damage are good.

i would assume
daggers for crit builders
and slow weps for haste builders.

meh...

i let the bot attack a dummy.

im getting 13.7k dps either way, and 14.5k dps with axe/dagger
so i guess ill keep this for awhile lol.
