well apparently I was trying to solo greater rifts. myBAD... Nephlim rifts running A>O>K
Okay, happy to hear that you have figured it out a bit.
Might I suggest a Static Gen Monk or a WD over the barb?
Static monk is best build in the game ATM and the WD is really versatile with lots of build possibilities. Next to the static monk, it's got the highest botting rift clears for the most part.
As a general rule, I try to find a speed build that I like and go after that speed gear first.
- After you have your most basic gearing I would suggest nephalem rift runs until you get about 30-50 GRift keys. Again, speed builds help as you can clear lower Rifts in under 3 minutes.
- Then do low GRifts to get your main legendary gems ranked up to level 25. Use whatever GRift you can complete and your gems are still a high upgrade percentage (at least over 60% chance). IE: GRift level 5 is super easy and your gems will get fast, easy upgrades. Once their upgrade chance drops below 60%, up the GRift level. Once you are at a GRift level where your gem upgrade chance is under 60% and you're barely finishing GRifts in time, you should move on through the rest of this list and come back again after cubing some upgrades.
- Once those gems are level 25 [or as high as you could get], use a speed build with bounty runs so that you can get some items cubed and craft a few Sage items for farming Death's Breath.
Once your basic items for your build are cubed, and your 3 needed legendary gems are over 25, I would suggest hitting up speed runs for materials and Death's Breath.
I usually do Neph Rifts at low torment, set trinity to open weapon racks, etc. Remember to get Nemesis Bracers and 3 piece Sage bonus (+1 Death breath when one drops)
- Once you get about 2000+ Death's Breath you should spend awhile upgrading rares to legendaries in the cube. This is the source of most of your gear. If you're grinding monster kills, Rifts or Grifts for gear, you're doing it wrong.
This process usually takes me a 3-5 days with no help on a fresh account.
Once my speed build is put together well I can easily get 200-300 DB an hour. In a full day of DB farming you should get around 5000 DB. This is nearly enough to gear another build or another class if you're smart about it.
My preferred speed build is an Angry Chicken WD as you do not even have to attack anything in lower torments with a Quetzacoatl and a wormwood in your Cube. There is a build link in my signature if you want to try WD. I can actually speed farm T6, T7, and T8 Rifts with a really well geared Angry Chicken setup.
Hope that helps
