Hey fellow buddies of the buddy!
Thought it was worth posting how positive my experience has been with the bot. I've got 6 level 90's now, all with maxed professions. I've learned how to write my own profiles, and farm mostly anything I need in the game.
The bot has given me the chance to take the tedious parts away from the game, and allow myself and my friends more time to have fun together.
As a premed student who works all the time, this has been a great thing for me to still enjoy the game.
Big thanks to all the dev's and scriptwriters out there!
All that being said, there has been a handful of real dangers out there along the way!
I have been banned using other bots in the past before this one. And even using this one, there are definite ways to put yourself in danger. Some things I recommend to new users for safety?
? Don't bot in a guild! Despite the perks, they see you online all the time.
? Most of the danger when using the bot comes from being visible. If you stay off the radar, then you won't get reported.
? It's not always bad to bot for excessive amounts of time, just understand you can't be seen in the process! I've botted for a week straight once. But I made sure no one noticed where I was, or what I was doing.
? From my experience, I can infer that GM's from in-game only investigate your characters after a certain number of flags. I'm sure they do keep track of gold transactions, and behaviors, but I don't think they take time to look at those records unless you are conspicuous!
? Another way to get flagged is posting too many auctions. Don't be dumb! People will know you are up to something if you post 400 stacks of golden lotus.
? As far as leveling goes, the pvp has been much safer for me than questing. There are great quest profiles out there, but they are more prone to problems, or getting stuck somewhere. If you get stuck in the wild, and someone see's you, you are vulnerable to being reported!
? In the case you do get reported or banned, don't give up hope! Tell the GM's someone hacked your account before you give up and admit to botting! Often times they will reset your things and put your characters back a few weeks prior.
? Don't gossip! Its tempting when you have a ton of gold/farming ability to tell people in game. DON'T. This is the easiest way to get reported. Its okay to help them out maybe, but never admit you bot!
? Collect, test, and write your own scripts. If you test and write your own scripts or profiles for gathering, etc. then not only will you be able to cater more specifically to what you want to do, but you can stay safe and subtle, without people noticing you!
And remember, the botting world is dangerous!
Never blame the dev's for getting banned. By using the bot, you are putting yourself at risk of the consequences of botting. Remember to be safe!
Thanks.
