Hi everyone I wanted to run this weird situation through with you to see what your thoughts were.

I had an old account from the wow glider days that got banned in the first ever ban wave blizzard had.

So today I decided maybe I can get that account back? its been years and a lot has changed.

So I contacted a GM and long story short I gave him my CD key because I wanted my old account back and didn't have the log in info anymore.

He tells me the account names do not match and that the account has been played regularly for the past 10 years. How is this even possible?
I specifically stopped playing it because the account was banned? only to hear its been active all this time????

I asked if I could make a dispute because that account is mine and I have the CD key and the SQ/A. He simply said no and tried to get me to buy their discounted wow pack.

I have no clue what to think on this situation.

Anything to do with account banning you get the worst GM's out there. I think they simply stop reading what you say, and just throw out a generic answer.

You are "knocking" on wrong door.

The payment administration you need to contact for. Not the regular GMs, handling account actions.

My assumption is that somebody keylogged your account and then attached it to a Battle.net under a different name.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding...We have a winner!

The simple answer is your account/computer was compromised some time in the past and someone used the information they gained to re-enable your account. Since that time your account has been added to another b.net account and someone has been using it ever since.

Selling accounts exactly like this was big business a few years back. Blizz *****ed down on a lot of them, but there is still many of them that have slipped through the *****s.

Here's another tin foil hat idea, too...

A GM re-activated your account because back when the Glider bans went out, your account had some very desirable items or titles that the GM wanted. They then took the account, played on it for years and when b.net came about, they attached it to a different b.net knowing that it would be very hard to trace it back to them. That would explain the name change.

That's just a tin foil hat idea though.

id say for 5 bucks...
Just let it go... as frozen would say.

I called wow with information about my first ever account, had no information besides like 7 different possible emails, same thing after the found it, they tracked it threw name / server and race changes they legit gave it back haha.

AS long as you have the CD-key you can reclaim it, doesn't matter if it per this date is on another battlenet.

I know, cause a gifted account was reclaimed from me after about 5 years >.<
