My first step to gold botting

Hi,

I've been a Lifetime member for 2-3 years now, yet I have never botted for gold. Sometimes 30 minutes skinning on my main. Otherwise it's just been some ArchaeologyBuddy, leveling for a couple of hours...

Now I created a new Battle.net account, and bought all expansions.

I just started on a tauren Paladin (for the faster herbing). I also picked up Herbalism and Mining, and in settings told him to herb and mine.

I have a couple of questions!

Should I switch to a DK at 55? I only want it to bot gold.

My plan is to herb alot, have an alchemy friend who makes Flask of the Winds (150g each at AH), then deposit them in my guild bank. On my main battle.net account I then have an alt in the guild (two members) which I deposit them, sell and then send the gold to my main character. Is this safe, is there a better way?

How much played time should I expect it to take to 85 using Kicks profiles and Singular Retri CC?

Do you have any advice for me?

I'm planning on botting while I'm asleep, wake up, turn off the bot, play on my main account, and a few hours before I go to bed again I start it, or when I'm not at home. So I guess max 18 hours per day. I will use LogMeOut! for the security, stuck, whispers and those.

Use a druid to herb. Flight form > all for herbing.

Yea I thought about a druid first, but I saw a big thread here and Paladin/DK was the fastest leveling according to the poll, druid was faaar behind.
I'm new to this as I said, so I just want to test it. Quick 85 without too much trouble, and then make some gold. I'm like at 5k my main, need some for MoP:D
 
i would not use a tauren since they got stuck everywhere try a BE/Goblin instead.

I have a tauren pala 85 and he does get stuck on just about everything no matter what im doing because he is so big,
A goblin or blood elf would be a perfect choice if its only going to be used for botting gold.

Also i find with most characters i make that 1 - 85 takes about 4-6 days of 24/7 botting, but it depends on if you have heirlooms or not, and if the bot messes up and sit idle for hours when your not around to supervise it.

If i could make anything for gathering it would be a druid for the flight form and at 310%, i always get beaten by druids when im gathering.

If your after money i hear pets are doing very well at the moment,
and with mats dropping alot recently on most servers it would seem pets would be the better choice to make gold
 
I would personally stay paladin. But meh, I hate death knights.

Wrong.
Paladin and DKs are faster with 20% speed increasement skills/talents.
There are a lot of calculations about flight and herbing time. DK/Pala wins everytime.

Farming with a druid in vashj'ir results in stucks (forest to mailbox) because of the flightform.
 
Guys, I really need to know. With Bot: Questing, will he learn Herbalism by himself? Or will it get stuck at skill 90 and level past that skill zones? I have to leave for a couple of hours.
 
Works fine :) i'm not ~35 with around 22 hours played. Not very good but got stuck last night for a couple of hours.
Might swap to Dk tho, not sure.

Interesting thanks for this, do you have a link to where you read this to?

By the way if you want to stay as Tauren but have a cheap/free supply of Pygmy oil that can work nicely to avoid stucks. :)
 
You can easily do the calc yourself.

Approx flight time between hotspots.
Gathertime
Time to Mount

Not that hard and you'll see that you get more nodes/h with a dk/pala on normal routes. With very short distances between the nodes the druid will probably be better.

That sounds like more effort than I'm willingly to invest but I'll take your word for it :D
 
ignore the profession leveling until you're level 60.. once you get flying, you can power level herb/mining in an hour
 
I was using 3 Human Dk?s ... very fast 85 and herb/miners.
There was no problem I just farmed abit of PvP EQ and let him farm...
The best with Dk?s is that you are able to choose the race without any knowledge to the races itself.

Another way would be to buy a b.net free wow account (with ebay or somewhere elso) so you can use the scroll (instant 80 charakter (you can choose who or create one) fast flying bags and equip).

I would have to say for lvling herbalism at low lvls is best for pally's and DK's because of the speed buff but druids at lvl 60 are better for the fact u can instantly pop into flight form and im not 100% sure but i think they can pick up herbs without leaving flight form so Instant change from your normal character to flight form and maybe not having to leave flight form while picking up herbs makes for faster lvling of herbalism from 60 to 85+ so i would of lvled a druid instead but to be honest i herb and mine on my pally but only because mining was already half way lvled and my pally was already 85.
