Monk Failing Act 3

15m is not even enough for Act 3 Hell for a Barb!!!

I don't know if you were trolling or referencing what someone else has said-
But I have built several barbs which function on 8 million in gear - and have
stats capable of act 3 inferno with 2 deaths an hour as the average worst.

A friend of mine - lets say - Also wrote a guide on how to do this and exactly
what pieces to buy and what stats to look for on the auction house. The guide
was for profit so I can't get into details here - nor would I want to. - Don't pm me either

I have also geared a barb in multiple hundreds of million of gear - and although
the gph and item finds raise - the death values change much slower. Sure at times
a barb might not die for many hours - but occasionally I will see 2 deaths an hour
on an insane geared barbarian.

I can tell you one thing; pretend values like 10,000 armor are completely ridiculous
and in no way should be considered standard for act 3 inferno or any content in game.
Resist values however should be relatively high unless you gear beyond basics.

And dps? the numbers spouted from self proclaimed professionals on these forums are
simply ridiculous; as act 3 inferno is 100% solid with 20k dps after buffs with correct
gearing.

Now everyone has preferences; or different objectives with botting - different goals
But 8 mil will buy a 100% acceptable barbarian for act 3 inferno with item values tested
as little as 1 week ago; which was the last time I gathered 5 gearsets and tested them.

Note: This is gearing for champ farming profiles - I don't know about wild 500k GPH profiles
- I'm talking about champion farm bots.

Slight Edit: I would like to mention that many players may be looking at older threads with
previous content and versions of demonbuddy when they come up with their figures -
so it may not be their fault if they were lead to believe the wrong values - as content has
been nerfed over-time

8 mil of gear might let you start farming act 3 decently well but it's far from ideal. You're going to want to put all the loot you get into upgrading your gear at least until you hit ~60k buffed dps while retaining your def, which should cost you about 30-40 mil. Up until that point gear is cheap and the cost to performance ratio is very good.

I've had a lot of luck making a 2h rend barb build for 10-15m. The trick is to find a weapon with at least 1200 dps, a socket, life steal >5.5% and LoH>1600. I found 2 of them for under 2 million, so they're relatively cheap compared to Skorns. Don't look for base crit, it's too expensive and 1600+ LoH is great for frenzy. You also need AR above 1k and HP over 40k. Andariel's Visage adds sooo much dps and you won't find a cheap one with AR or a socket, but you can find one with +Life or Armor easily. Also helps to have <10% fire damage bonus and >30% poison nova proc rate. 2H rend barbs will die a couple times an hour but they're still super tanky.

I run 2 Monks and 1 Barb and even though I dumped a lot of gold on my Barb, my Monks run better.

My Monks sit at around 65k DPS unbuffed with like 75k with BoH Blazing Wrath, 650 AR, 600 LoH, 50k HP, and around 500 Life Regen per second. I think I spent like 100m on each Monk but this was back when gear was expensive.

45k hp
160k dps
500 ar
5000 armor with buff
dies about 4 times in average!

30-40 million is pretty far from ideal - 8-15 million is 100% ideal when your talking about gearing several bots. 60k dps in act 3 buffed is top end top notch 100% perfected dps and is no where near standard. I'm amazed you thought this was required to perform well in act 3 inferno. I think you're gearing incorrectly for the 8 million. 20k dps is enough to survive and profit from act 3 inferno - I really question your other stats - maybe you are not using a 34% stormshield and instead a 2 hander? I don't know. What I do know is I have amazing figures of success for 8 million gold gear sets under my associated skill build. If you're using whirlwind or a 2 hander or anything like that you are not min/maxing - you are not following the best low risk - low budget plan.

8 million gold = 2 deaths an hour with 20-23k BUFFED dps one hander. 10 million gold is nicer. 60k dps would be a well-endowed expensive bot - which should shoot to the moon and back (I have one that's in that area - that is not necessary - not baseline requirement for successful act 3 botting. And sure you can bot on less than 8 mil its likely not going to be effective though - but 8 mil will buy you the stats to do act 3 inferno well - assuming you use giles trinity. 60k dps agian is like a perfected act 3 inferno - and when you're talking about say 150k dps you're dropping champs in 2 seconds or less at certain points - a piece.

I have to accredit your experience - to an over-all inexperience in testing and gearing at various levels and skill/rune builds - I feel like there are those who know - and those who don't.
Furthermore you can gear act 1 for 1 million gold - act 1 inferno

And again these are champ farming profiles - not gph

Now - If you are just doing lets say - core and one other area - I can understand where you come from - because they are substantially more deaths per hour.

But if you run a full profile - such as ciggarc'a act 3 champ without excluding areas - 8 mil is 2 deaths an hour - maybe you'll hit 4 at some point - when the navigation servers work.
