Microsoft .NET Framework Question

Hey everyone, I just finished reformatting my computer. I installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, and everything is working fine. I looked in my Add/Remove programs, I see Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 & 3.0 (both SP2) and 3.5 SP1. Can I delete 2.0 and 3.0 and just keep 3.5 SP1? Or is all three just bundled like that for everything to properly function (not only HB)? What exactly does Microsoft .NET Framework do in simple terms?
