Maybe it was only me.. but.. 72 hour Suspension

Been mainly botting for Atma, occasionally played with ex combat assist because I was too lazy, but never really stayed on the assist too long. So, primarily used Fate Bot (Atma plugin).

It's possible that it's just me because sometimes I do leave it on for an extended period of time (mainly weekends). Thought I'll just give a heads up, incase people are using this and did not get suspended, try to be as human-like as possible. Log off from time to time ;-)

So the email was sent at 2 AM PST. Started the bot sometime around midnight, so the bot was running from midnight until I don't know when (I was asleep) but it was probably on for about 2 hours (based on the timestamp of the email. Was not running it the day prior to the suspension. Anyways, be careful ^___^ (also, didn't see any "Ban" threads / forums, sorry if this was posted incorrectly)

It's strange because my friend and I both have the bot on at the same time and he got a suspension and I didn't. He was fate farming when it happened and I was gathering Fire Shards. He got hit with a 72h suspension and I didn't get anything!

For those who got the suspension, do you mind if you can share what server you're playing on? How populated is it? Where was the zone/location where you bot FATEs? What class did you use? How long did you leave it on for prior to the suspension? What were your bot settings?

It would be extremely helpful to narrowing it down to whether it was the program, or whether you got reported too many times, or whether you bot for too long, and so forth.

72h suspension here as well, I've been FATE grinding the past few days.

Zone/Location: Coerthas Central Highlands
Time spent: 4-5 hours
Settings: All fates, move to specific location
Combat Routines - Megitek - All in one (great stuff man!)

I've mostly been using mine to level mining the last few days and haven't been suspended.

I do use Fate Bot pretty frequently, but I'm typically at my computer while it does it. I'll typically play another game and use the in-game chat to talk to friends while Fate Bot runs. I only go afk if I'm doing gathering or grinding. I know that I was using it at the same times that you guys are talking about, and I'm on one of the highest populated servers.

^ This though. Seeing that quite a few people look like they got hit with a suspension after just nothing for a while makes me a little wary. I'm still going to bot, but I'd like to know if I need to modify my behaviors at all.

I have been using fate bot, but no ban yet. It's more than likely some sort of obstacle got in the way and you were likely just running into a wall over and over or something.. idk. I know there the crab and go fate in costa del sol has rocks that you can get stuck running back and forth on.

Would like to also point out to never mention the bot in-game at all. Ever. Even to friends you know and trust. SE has records of the conversations you all have had from anywhere. They just pulled out a Whisper between my friends and knocked one of them out for using a parser for three days even though no one reported (we're friends IRL).

A lot of times they ban in waves. You could have done something a while ago that got you caught, and if it wasn't too bad like teleporting (hell maybe sometimes even in these cases) and you didn't have a GM catch you in the act they might just have it sent to their ban team and then they'll issue them all at once on a certain date.

I don't know about other MMO's, but they did it this way pretty often for FFXI.

EDIT: Just an addendum, I know it's hard, but try not to bot while you're afk/away from the computer, and if you're going to do it, do it as little as humanly possible. All it takes is a GM sending you a /tell in game and you not responding to pretty much fuck yourself.

13 accounts active none suspended. Always try and supervise your bot if your going to use it in highly active areas.

Anymore tips on Settings etc to better improve your chances guys?


Some things I do:

- Monitoring if I'm awake, jumping around once in awhile or "fight" with the bot to use some other skills instead of the bot's rotation etc
- Do dungeons to level once or twice before continuing to Fate, if I'm a DPS class with long queue, I will set to play sound in background, turning only the System Sounds on so I'll only hear the Dungeon Pop sound instead of all the fighting while I do other stuffs on my PC
- I don't use Gatherbot for more than 30minutes. I also stop in that duration to manually run to another spot before continuing the Gatherbot

Yeah I got hit with a 72 hr suspension as well. It actually happened on the 25th so my suspension is over. They probably do it in waves so that a huge portion of the population don't just disappear after a wave ban, that way some people return and some people leave for 3 days and no one will notice. I fate botted a lot to get seals for my ventures. Also the day of the ban I mined 6k shards and left it over night. Pretty much I attribute this suspension to pure recklessness on my part. I was on a low population previously and now I am in a more populated server so I guess more people are watching.

72 Hour suspension here as well. I was able to log back in today. Character still intact. I'm playing on Midgar and used Combat Ex only for White Mage.

So you don't use fate bot, gathering bot, grind bot, only comb ex and got suspended? Do you openly talk about it in chat or something? Do other people who you talk to know you are using it?

Correct I was only using Combat Ex. I was at my computer at all times. I play solo and do not play with any friends other than when im in Duty Finder. I've never chatted or mentioned anything of the sort about botting etc.
