Normally I would post this in the ban section, but I wanted to get more traffic.

I have a friend who botted about as much as I did, but didn't get banned. I just found out today that he was running Honorbuddy using a 64bit client, and thinks that's how he avoided the ban wave. He's young, and didn't know any better when it came to 64 bit vs 32, so he just brute forced it into 64 until it crashed while he botted. He crashed a lot, but he avoided getting banned, so maybe that's important information? He claimed that by running Honorbuddy as an active window (overlaying) Warcraft that it would run under 64 bit and not crash, but that anytime he would alt-tab or displace Honorbuddy from being the top window it would immediately crash. I don't know jack about programming, but apparently it worked for him.

It may seem that way Naus, but it isn't possible. I think it is just a misunderstanding.

It's possible. I'll be the first person to admit that I don't know anything about programming. All I know is that the more information people have, the more we can know about it. There are other people who haven't gotten banned, and they probably run on 32 bit, so it's all magic as far as I'm aware.

Your "friend" brewed up some serious bullshit and threw it your way.

yeah i call bs, you cant run honorbuddy on x64, period.

It's possible, but he's not that kind of person to make stuff up. He said his Warcraft client was running on 64, not the Honorbuddy program. Anyways, I didn't post this to argue with you. If you're a well educated programming expert and know that it's impossible then I'll believe that, but if it's possible under some circumstance and it's of note than it's good to know the information. Software is infamous for bugs and glitches, which are exactly when something happens that's not suppose to happen. So the idea of Honorbuddy somehow working on a 64 bit client ver of Warcraft doesn't seem far fetched under some odd circumstances. At the very least, I don't think it's wise to discredit any information while we're unable to know for sure how Blizzard is detecting Honorbuddy.

If the information is useless to you, then just walk on and ignore it, but on the odd chance someone is able to replicate it or learn from it, then it's useful.

Sorry Naus, but your young friend had trolled you hard!

The Honorbuddy software would not "attach" to any other executable but the current version of x86 WoW.exe on the live servers! Anyone stating otherwise is pure troll and his post can be reported to the forum moderators.

It is just like you pretend to unlock your car door with your home's front door keys. They are both keys, but that is the only fact, which join them :)

I am most likely to understand, that your young friend have used other bots, similar to HB, which are written for 64bit WoW. Could be this.

my truck uses gasoline and my wife's gay son's car uses electricity.

i cannot run my truck on electricity and he cannot run his car on gasoline.

square block in a round hole.

many times 64b software is written to be backwards compatible with 32b because not everyone has a 64b machine.
hb is written to only work on 32 bit software. it is not forward compatible with 64b software.

you MUST run in 32b for honorbuddy to even SEE wow running.<---simplified. it may be technically different.

<LOL> Obvious troll is obvious.

Troll thread closed.
