Mat prices starting to dip hard. How's it looking for everyone else?

When you farm with 2 bots around 12-15 hours a day you will get stocked faster then you can sell thats why there is undercutting.

Smartest thing too do is undercut by a signifcant amount with only 5-10 stacks.

They get sold fast and prices stay at the same rate while when you put 20-30 stacks your stacks will take up the first page and other people will see that as the market rate resulting in even lower prices.

I have a gbank with 6 tabs and even i notice that i would be full in 3-5 days if i didnt sell not counting that stacks will only increase when my 2nd account starts farming meaning in less then 2 days my gbank with 6 tabs would be filled up.

Most often you can farm faster then you can sell so its better too sell cheaper then not being able too farm or spend another couple of k on stocks estimating the prices will lower over time it is rather stupid.

My advice sell in the evening and morning.

Prices in the midday tend too fluxuate more

Today it was 85g for a stack of elementium ( 30 stacks of 1 person) currently its back up too 115.

My advice for herbalism is lvling inscriptioning resulting in making cards these are still in high demand and considering for 4k herbs you can make 4-7 cards resulting in a profit of 5-10k on top of the invested amount. Plus if you safe up for yourself you can make 1-2 decks which will mean 8x3k = 24k while the decks sell for an average of 30k resulting in another 6k profit.

The raw material prices lowered fast but the high end products can still make a decent profit although lvling inscription will cost you a sheer amount of farmed money and materials:).

Quick bump for people to post mid-jan prices.
Elementium ore is now 50g a stack with cinderbloom 50-70g, dipping hard, perhaps this is where it will stay??
Does anybody think the prices will raise again to 100g? maybe when the new raiding patches come out?

It has nothing to do with supply and demand when idiots post 30 gold uncuts, then the next idiot post another 5 gold undercut.. Blizzard needs to implement a 1 gold max undercut.. And a stack size requirement. Like if you wan't to post 1's, its in another section. I'm tired of people undercutting singles with stacks and droping the market hard..

lucky you.
cinderbloom: 50g/stack
whiptail: 65G/stack
Elementium ore: 70G/stack
obsedium ore: 55G/stack
Pyrite ore: 95G/stack

welcome to my servers T_T

elementium ore 50g and its gonna drop even more

Hope not, hopefully 50g is the maximum it will drop, I do not want wotlk prices, I am a gold seller and wotlk prices with current gold prices = scene utterly destroyed.

The problem is stupid people undercutting for so much so they can sell their 10000 stacks instead of taking 10-20 mins to find private buyers on their server. I do that so i dont fuck up the AH price. Yeah I undercut by 20% but to private buyers keeping the public price high and KEEPING my price at only 20% lower than AH but as soon as some fuckwit on my server hits 85 on their bot and before they get banned for doing it 24/7 they spam the market and fuck it up. I have been trying to scoop up everything really low and raising the prices but heres my current server prices

60g elementium ore
80g pyr
100g Obsid

Twilight 110g
cinder 40g ---- Yeah no one wants it apparently
whip 80-100g varies on kiddies posting 900 pages
Volatiles are no more than 20g a peice for air and as low as 5g a peice for life.

:(

Bought like 30 stacks of Cinderbloom today for less than 15g.. And the guy kept reposting them.

Cinder: 60
Jasmin: 190
Elementium: 75
Whiptail: 140
Saving my pyrite.

This would be some awsome! And yes I agree, got nothing do with supply and demand when people are undercutting with up to 50% sometimes... And they ain't posting 1 stack...

it's due to a few things:

Kids
Kids who bot
stupid botters who want to get reported by players and other botters
stupid botters who don't want to make money
didnt take you long to post something impressively moronic

Don't you think that it is a quiet normal that prices are dropping?
At the start of Cataclysm not many people focused on farming herbs/ores, so botting account made a lot of gold because people needed the mats for maxing their professions.
Now Cataclysm is already a month old and people have more time for farming so the prices are dropping.
I recognized this and so i decided not to sell the raw mats, just make somethin better of it. For example you can wait till Darkmoon-Market opens so the prices for herbs will raise a lot.
You can make Hardened Elementiumbars, on my server there are only several people that sell this an I got about 200g per bar.
Make some Flasks, prospect your ore etc. ... It is just normal that prices are dropping so hard, because it was REALLY EXPENSIVE for "normal" players

Prices on my end are identical to what the OP posted. Mind you the dip only started on the weekend so perhaps it will rebound today or tomorrow.

For the people who brew their herbs: Are flasks selling bad on your server aswell?

hm the yrent selling bad over here, you just have to keep on top of it. Got in a posting war the other day where another char and myself would undercut eachother by 1c per flask for about 90 min. fun times :). needles to say i only pay this much attention about an hour before raiding times. netted myself 30k i flask sales though so it was woth it.

Prices on my server fluctuates alot. For example the flasks vary from 250-80g depending how many are on AH.

People are impatient and sell for ridiculously low amounts when they bot to get their quick gold. They don't realize in the long run they're screwing not only the other people but their selves royally.

if ore is listed at 36g stack like you said, easy fix. Buy it all out, vendor the green cut gems (or blue). cut greens vendor 9g each, figure 6 per stack or 54g vendored. Do this to at least raise the min buyout back up to around 50. either way this should be the bottom line for ores in the expansion. That being said, im personally dropping to one miner and running two herbalists. Mining, for the moment, just doesnt work that well without epic gems and useful crafted gear, though crafted items will be getting new sockets in patch. At the moment, my biggest income is definetly twilight jasmine, followed by volatiles and leathers/dragonscales.

Something else i noticed looking at the dates on this thread, is some of you dont seem to notice the huge ebb and flow throughout the week. Casuals flood the market on the weekend, driving the prices down grossly. Ive made an easy 100k or so just buying epics on sunday or monday, and reselling on wednesday or thursday.

There is a diffrence between a dip caused by people no longer needing to level with mats and people undercutting by 50% every day till that becomes the standard price

then people again undercutting that by 25-50%. Kicks post isnt moronic if you watched the trends on atleast my server you would understand the decline isnt due to less need for the mats but people posting 100 pages at 50% undercut then the next kid coming in and undercutting that by 25%.

^^^^^^ Agree! So many people have the attitude of "the market should buy MY items on the AH and thats ok if I am selling things at retarded cheap prices as long as they are buying MY product and I dont care how much gold I am making because SOME gold is better than NO gold."

Thats these kids attitudes, well and some retarded adults as well.

There is another alternative. Get an auction bot running and buyout below a certain threshold. There is a decent one that uses the remote auction house. Now for something as common as ore, this will most likely bankrupt you lol. But for certain markets, say a good gem cut or whatever, you would ensure that people are only buying your gems, and then subsequently relisting the ones you bought at higher costs. If nothing else it is a good way to run out highly competitive relisters. I've had some moderate success using this method, but obviously its high risk. For certain realms im sure it would work in your favor though.

My server has probably the worst economy and stupidest people of all. We currently have stacks of elementium ore on for less than the vendor price and it is very often that I find things that I can smelt and vendor for an increased profit. Our prices have actually gotten alot higher recently for some strange reason.

Anyways, can I have a suggestion for a server with a somewhat "good" economy?
