Due to an AH Duping trick using your local clock (can't BELIEVE they timed AH transactions to LOCAL - so so so bad) - there is apparently trillions of gold in the game through this trick and it's been there since day one of release....some are predicting/speculating that there will be a massive rollback - I've read that Asia has already seen a 3 day rollback, can anyone confirm?

All the forums are full with it. It's either true or the biggest troll evurrr.

I haven't seen nary a word of it from Blizz officially nor on any of the blue trackers.

Anything to fix economy ... a roll back would be awesome tbh.

Why? All those op farming spots are nerfed already - so less inflation in game, progress would revert and we have demonbuddy now ... lot more chances for ppl like me who didnt exploit game at early stage. :)

+1 for roll back! :)

Would love to just see all gold removed from the game. These exploits don't = item duping. Anyone who got items had to farm them from in game, not a glitch with the AH. Anyone who has over a bil gold either has multiple people playing multiple accts or bots/glitched the gold. I played almost 250 hours legit on 2 characters and barely reached 100M at any given time combined. This would also prevent gold from dropping to zero worth right out of the gate with the RMAH who had people saving it all/botting the hell out of the game initially. There is one guy who was making 60M an hour with 100 accts (200 chars, half euro half US). 60M an hour for over 2 weeks and has saved almost all of it..... wtf? People like this have destroied the gold market before it started.

60m * 24 * 14 = 20160M... that's 20+ BILLION gold from one group of people alone.

Without some type of rollback this game's market is going to take a massive shit on everyone. Items will skyrocket due to the lack of them, gold will be worth next to nothing. If this glitch with the AH really did = gold duping; might as well give up on making money on this game before it even starts.

This is confirmed, and lots of people have billions upon billions of gold.

Just gold being rollbacked? Or items as well?

You don't need a global roll back. They can track who did it and roll them back. A global roll back in the US/EU wont go over good PR wise and they actually care what we think because we make them the most money.

Anyone care to explain the duping trick ;).

I read that it involves posting auctions - someone buying who is in on it - then using the local clock trick to cancel it - both get to keep their stuff/gold.

I wouldn't attempt it unless you could care less about a ban. In fact, I think I read they fixed it - but damage is done.

It's fixed, but if they don't rollback, the economy is completely dead now. Trillions of duped gold flooding it.

Not a rollback at all. Just downtime in order to get rid of duplicated items causing server instabilities.

The duplicate ITEMS aren't the problem... The trillions of duplicated GOLD are..

Here's how it worked, I found out to late - but I hope they have a way of tracking it and rollback those who did it.

Player A puts item up on AH
Player B buys item
Player A takes out the gold from that transaction
Player B turns back the clock on his desktop by 2 days
Player B will get back the money he spent on the item, and player A will also have the money that was originally paid, thus duping the gold.

Ah, so if you had the auctions window open when the item sold you could do this trick? Anyhow, I still believe it's actually the duplicate items that are causing the problem. If two items in a database has the exact same ID it can no doubt cause server instabilities. The gold on the other hand doesn't recuire a rollback to fix.

No, one person with two accounts, or two people working together. Endless supply of gold.

ive known this trick for quite some time now. tho didnt take advantage of it. only used it to take of auctions witch werent selling to put new ones up.

but i would fully support a rollback or complete wipe.

Or ladder xD

Bashiok on the official forums doesn't believe it exists. So probably not.
