Making gold these days

what are people doing these days to make some gold. i am running the fishing bot and making the 125 crit and mastery food. on horde mal ganis they sell for about 300g a stack. i feel like there might be a little bit better way not looking to make millions just enough to pay game time.

Get a level 2 Trading Post in your Garrison and set up the bot with a profile to farm furs somewhere. You should loot a bunch of furs and the parts needed for the Trading Post. Both sell well on just about any server and should easily get you enough gold to buy a WoW Token each month.

what is the point of the trading post? thought that was more of a way to get resources?
 
IIRC if you have a TP it also gives a chance for the AH parts to drop which still sell for crap tonnes.

If you want less suspicious methods, I think the order of most gold to least gold (if your garrison is setup properly) is garrison>cata raids>farming~dungeon suicides.

so i only use the TP, for work orders for a chance at something i can sell on the AH?

i would not mind making enough to pay for my sub and play with. so nothing super crazy.

i am a computer it for my company so i can monitor the bot from work so i run it a few hours a day.

The TP lets you build an auctioneer to keep in the TP in your garrison. To build the auctioneer you need to gather and assemble parts that drop in different areas of the game (WoD zones, Ashran, Heroic Dungeons, and Raids). The ones that drop in WoD zones are easy to farm and can be sold as individual pieces or as the piece they make when combined. Both the individual pieces and the combined piece sell for good money on the public AH. On the three servers I play on the two combined parts from the WoD zones sell for 3-5K and sell pretty fast. Sell 5 combined pieces on the AH each month and there is the gold needed for a WoW Token. This doesn't even require a lot of time spent botting. I usually get a full set of parts from a Nagrand profile I run farming Ironfist Harbor in 1-2 hours and often get more parts than needed to build a complete assembly in addition to 600-1K gold an hour there after vendoring greens and trash.

how often do you find the 665 boe's there? ill be testing this in a hour.

It's totally random on the 665 BoEs. I've gotten nothing for days to weeks and then I'll get 2 in the same grind. I've had better luck with the BoEs in other parts of Nagrand, but that's not to say you won't get them here too. I love a 665 BoE drop as much as the next botter, but for what they sell for on my servers now that I've gotten more botter competition at the AH lately I just look at them like a bonus. Most of them don't even fetch enough at the AH now to cover a WoW Token anymore on my servers.

after doing some looking into, you can only get the Super Cooling Module from nagrand and that sells for like 200g on my server. did they change where you find parts?

I've never tried to get them anywhere beside Nagrand only because they happen to drop on all the profiles I run in Nagrand, but I believe they drop in SMV, Talador, and Nagrand. Actually, I can confirm they drop in SMV too since I run a Frostweed farming profile there overnight at times and I've found some of the parts my bags after they dropped off mobs during the night. If Super Cooling Module only sells on your sever for 200g then you must have a botter heavy server with a bad economy. The 4 parts needed to assemble Super Cooling Module alone fetch 200g-500g on my servers.

Additionally there are great spots in Gorgrand to farm fur that drop the four parts needed for Cyclial Power Module. Cyclial Powr Module also sells on my servers for 1-3K pretty easily. Those part drop in Gorgrand, Frostfire Ridge, and Spires of Arak as well. Might want to look into farming those as well if they sell good on your server.



*Also to save some people the trouble....I don't share any profiles that I use in my current rotations. I have in the past and the next thing I knew I was finding other bots running my profile 24/7. It doesn't take much skill to write a decent profile. Everyone should try to get good at it. At the very minimum learn how to take a well written profile offered by someone else and change it to fit what you need. Often you need only change the hotspots, mob IDs or factions, vendor and mailbox info, and sometimes the level ranges.
 
I tired my hand at farming herbs and mining nodes. Has never worked for me. Always stops and stand on nodes and doesn't gather them. Tried writing my own profile. That didn't work well either. Think it might be a gatherbuddy issue. So i have been doing skinning. I run 3 bots for 6 hours at a time. Run them about 5 or 6 times a week each. I average about 7 stacks of leather and 3 or 4 stacks of fur. In a single 6 hour run per toon. The leather sells for around 300g a stack and the fur 350g. I get on average 2 665 Boe a week. Mostly get the rings. Gotten a few shields. Only gotten 2 trinkets in 6 weeks. The Boe is really nice bonus. About 12k a ring 15k for shield and 18k for trink. This method not the most safe. I will take a week break off and on. Make about 60k a month. Never will buy a token . I see it as a WOW rip off. You can buy wow gold online a hell of a lot cheaper. God I miss the cata farming for whiptail and the volitile life. I would make 10k in one night.

You can get around this by making a grind profile that runs along a path that goes by as many easy to get to nodes (herb or ore) as possible and just put 99999 in the profile's faction listing and having "Harvest Herbs" and "Harvest Minerals" checked in the settings tab. It works great for me. The bot will just run the path and pick up any herb or ore nodes within distance. It will not attack mobs unless they attack your toon. It's not as fast as a GB2 profile where flying is allowed, but it's very non-buggy and works.

i enjoy the TP my self. recently maxed on resources with 3 toons. then used 27k resources on deconic dust since that sells very well.
normal ill max out on reosurces and change out tp for something else until i need more resources
 
That sounds awesome! Thanks for the tip for that place ... been wondering where the damn parts for my trading post were. Never see em drop but if I could farm an hour or so a day out of boredom sure!
