As I'm sure many of you are aware, there is a new error preventing people from using multiple sessions at once.
I'd like to centralize all discussion regarding this into one thread and have the workarounds or solutions gathered here so it's easier for everyone to see and better brainstorming.
What happens:
While you're already running several sessions at once, one of them disconnects "Disconnected by the gods" and it seems there's an inherent AB problem that even if you close one instance properly (close game from game option) or close it using Account Manager, if that instance has some plugins running for it, the entire AB program crashes (updater.exe) and it brings all your other sessions down with it. This behavior is in my opinion absurd. Just because one instance (session) that has some plugins running for it is closed or disconnects because of a server/network issue (which is clearly not something intentional), it shouldn't bring all your other sessions down. I believe this crashing problem which existed before this hackshield problem, is critical and should be addressed as soon as possible. If disabling the plugins for the instance (session) before you close it is a pain in the ass but it is do-able, you're left with no solution when the server disconnects you because the game was programmed by monkeys. And then all sessions crash because updater.exe crashes.
So after a disconnect crashed AB and all your other sessions, you load a new session and after that one loads, you try to load another.
At first it seems to be working, but right after doing the Hackshield check just before finishing loading the splash screen, this error pops up:
And the 2nd session that was loading disappears. Every time you try to load a 2nd session the same hackshield error comes.
A temporary workaround which was found by sowhat2112 involves going to Glyph/game/archeage/live/bin32/hshield and deleting the asc folder then rebooting. Go back the the hshield folder and run hsupdate as admin.
But that only fixes the problem temporarily. First it was about a day, now it's less than 6h.
I believe this hackshield issue came ever since the hackshield update (30 july - thursday). I'd say this would be the most urgent thing to fix, after which the "random disconnect/game close with a plugin running crashes the entire AB program" would be the next most urgent thing to be solved.
Out, could you please confirm you are aware of these two critical problems and let us know what is the status on them? If you have any recommendations or possible solutions/workarounds or things you'd want us to test, please share them with us.
If you'd like me to send you the logs, just send me a message.
Thank you
