Could there be some improvements on the Cooldown feature? When I toggle it, it doesn't use my troll racial before alter time and I have noticed that it wont cast anything more while alter time is active if I don't have any arcane missile stacks. I could easily be casting 2-3 more Arcane Blasts during that small period of time.
I'm comming back to my beloved Mage.
You've got any tips about itemization? Im thinking about Frost spec since it allows me to have better movement...
Anyways, playing with this CR with a 550 mage doing tries on Garrosh N, which is better?
Btw Millz, just a heads up, Fire Mage is turning out to be THE top DPS spec for mages. Frost is really lagging behind and not scaling well with the ilvl, fire on the other hand is being a beast, hitting harder than arcane.

Well Raidbots tells a different story pal. Top100 and all parses Arcane is Top Specc.
Ah M?llz, IMO is the refresh timer for invokers energy too early. I?ll lose ~3 Global cooldowns every minute. I?ve 16k Haste now. Perhaps the Mage is faster as you thought.![]()

Perhaps the Mage is faster as you thought. And a Setting for max Dot Targets would be nice. Usually I max out 4-5 Targets for Nether Tempest. Sometimes its better to do more focus damage on one target, but dotting a little bit around is ok, Dotting everything around is not ok, Dotting nothing dito.
Mhm to compare speccs I look at all parses. Top 100 is oc fire good cause of lucky triesThe unlucky tries you do not see and you?ll have bad tries even with 70+ Crit for pyro.
What I see is that all three specs are close together (~10%). And Frost benefits more from the routine cause of the two proccs and the fast usage of them. A normal player will lose a lot more Proccs than the cc will do. Cause of that "we" are better with frost then raidbots will tell us.
@Millz: Unbuffed 2.05 Seconds channeling time. With nether tempest I don?t think that there is a simcraft number. It demands on your equip, the living time of the Mobs, if they are separated or not. The bombs don?t benefit from Mastery and with higher Ilvl you cap haste. More than 15832 is very uncommon. Thats the +7 tick and a bit more than Hastecap for Frostbolt WITH Metaprocc or Heroism.
I would max out nether tempest at five targets, but thats not a "hard" number.
Don't know how hard this is to fix but during questing the CC tanks the mobs. It even frost nova's the mob(s) but then it does not take a few steps away. Frost is about control and safety at leveling. Mages are not locksThey HAVE to be away from mobs.
Yeah I thought so. How about strafing? Well that requires too much as well... One more suggestion is using Greater invisibility when death seems inevitable.
As Arcane, a little bug with routine, as soon as fight starts and routine starts to lineup all cooldowns than when routine starts Alter Time, routine does not cast anything until Alter time has finished, not sure if this is intented or its bugged![]()
Fire is hitting harder than arcane in lots of fights, also, Frost is way down there. Just check it for yourself

Edit: Btw, talking about 10m Heroic here, Fire > Arcane > Frost.
