[PAID] [Mage] Portal - An Advanced Honorbuddy Mage Routine [PvE/PvP]

the dmg decrease from the "slightly slower cc" is huge..... my dmg before the ninja patches was about 150k ... Now i have 100-120k . i needed to play manual :O
 
Ok, I found out why my mana is dropping below 81%, your routine is not working properly as its Casting Arcane Blast 5 times when it should not be casting more than 4 as its a huge dps loss and uses a lot of mana, here is your log to so you may see whats going on ;) I uploaded 2 logs with different settings but its the routine casting 5x Arcane Blast that causing the mana issue when it should never be doing that, though it doesn't happen often, its hurting dps in long term if there is anyway to fix so it only casts 4 Arcane blasts, Thank you ( I ran bot for 10mins and it stays at 50% mana )

Just ran Flex, current Routine does 100k LESS dps than before ;( sad panda

Icy veins suggests a general rule should be stay above 80% mana, so 91% is pretty good. Did you try the new arcane barrage setting?

bad news: the routine dont understand when mage dies. plz fix it.

That's an issue with Honorbuddy, not the routine.

How much slower are are talking about (in terms of DPS)?

Affects AFK bot bases (Questing/BG Bot/BGBuddy/Gatherbuddy2), and when framelock is disabled it'll run slower. Tyrael with framelock enabled will be fine.

Honorbuddy issue. Try a fresh install of HB.

Wouldn't be affected by the routine if you have framelock enabled.

so i've been testing out the free version of this so far and i have to say. Millz. you are awesome!! i have never found a mage CC that works as well as yours ( or lock for that matter). very well done. with my 552 ilev arc mage sitting on target dummy for 10+ minutes now it is sitting at a consistent 315k dps.
one small change i would love to see made to the routine however.
with 2pc t16 Chronomancer Regalia - Item Set - World of Warcraft arcane gains a buff every time they use arcane missiles Item - Mage T16 2P Bonus - Spell - World of Warcraft. it only stacks to 4 stacks after that using a 5th missiles is a waste of the buff. can you tweak the CC to do 3 things.
1).NEVER use 5 missiles in a row(personal preference is 3 stacks of buff max then AB ). the one exception to this rule is Alter Time since if you use missiles after AT you will lose the stacks once AT ends.
2). do not use Missiles proc with less than 4 stacks of Arcane Charge. exception is double Missiles proc sub 4 stacks of Charge.
3). If Profound Magic is an active buff but have no missiles proc CC should always cast AB regardless of current Mana before casting barrage (otherwise the first AB after Barrage which is already super cheap will basically be free)
4). rune of power should be cast a few seconds earlier than it currently is. the CC is waiting for the buff to fall off before casting again. if it could say... cast it once per 56-57 seconds ( lasts for 60) that would be perfect

with the 2pc you should always cast AB if you have profound magic buff regardless of how many Charge stacks you have. because 2pc buff reduces mana cost of AB by 25% per stack it is then viable to cast AB at 4 stacks without losing as much mana.
I am still looking for the "optimal" rotation with 2pc but the way it feels right now seems to be AB to 4 charges. use one missiles proc then AB. if another missiles proc use it then AB again. no missiles proc nether tempest once to fish for an AM proc if you get it repeat AM then AB again. if no AM proc then barrage.
i will update with more info if i can find it, but using 2pc lets you extend charges longer while not expending much mana

as long as it is able to catch the 2pc buff and or recognize that 2pc is equipped then it should be fine to do that. if anyone else has any other comments on the rotation for the 2pc bonus please feel free to input those as mine are all pure speculation and raid testing and "feel".

Edit:one other request/comment since i havnt looked at it in a few days with the CC...
if Arcane Charge is < 4 but missiles is procced twice it will use one so as not to waste procs correct?

- Rune of Power should now refresh when less than 5s remaining (rather than waiting for it to expire).

I'll have a look at the 2pc stuff another time - haven't got time tonight.
 
ok i noticed that in frost it has the tendency to cast ice lance when the target is not frozen and routine does not reset upon killing one mob and moving to another. if we can have icelance wait until target is frozen and we have 5 icicles we will prob have a higher dps when doing dailies.

Is it not because you're moving? It'll cast Ice Lance regardless of target being frozen etc if you're moving.
 
Hi, started using milz cr this week, here some points with the last version:
Bombs should be priorized more with arcane spec, the mastery scales a lot with our bombs, and sometimes i just keep 2 applied. Also they should be refreshed with 2 seconds left, dont need to wait then to explode, they will even if you refresh lasting 2 secs.
Canceling the 5th cast in 540+ gear and 2pc isnt necessary, the mana regen its really fast, actualy not casting AB with 4 charges its a lost in dps.
Burn fase: with all cds, should aply bomb on all targets, then procedd with spammin AB + missiles procs, with no barrage, even if its burn the mana to 50-60% those 10-15 secs with all cds, the blasts will it like a truck, and bombs do most of the dps.
Srry for my english, and its the first time i try to contribute to some cr, it i need to polish the points id gladdy do that.
Oh, talking about PVE only, idk about pvp.
 
For those having success with arenas using Portal... can you post your settings? I'm in nearly full tyrannical and getting steamrolled. Does your success still rely heavily on your ability to do arenas well by yourself? (knowing who/when to cc, etc.)

Last weekend I was doing fine in Arena with portal, but his weekend..well it kinda sucked. Not using polymorph on focus target, and generally not doing that good. Not sure what happend..
